Journey mentionings on tv in the last few days

Postby Journey/Survivor » Tue Feb 10, 2009 1:34 pm

Last Friday I was watching a rerun of the show "According To Jim" and Journey were mentioned in it. Later in the same night I was watching a rerun of the show "Still Standing" and Journey were mentioned in it too. And now tonight I had the show "The Big Bang Theory" and two of the characters were singing Any Way You Want It.

On "According To Jim" it was said that the characters Cheryl and Dana had made-out with Journey backstage at a concert. On "Still Standing" the character Bill was listening to music really loud, his wife walks into the room and tells him to turn it down, and he says "I'll bet Journey's wife doesn't tell him to turn down the music." The wife then tells him that Journey's a band not a person.

I once heard a song about taking a "Sentimental Journey".

I will jump in before 'he who shall not be named' does and categorically state that this is all part of 'Marketing & Media Mastermind Steve Perry(tm)'s comeback plan and is in no way coincidental. It is in fact merely the tip of the iceberg and just a teaser of the carefully orchestrated and timed campaign leading up to the Hoarse Whisperer's upcoming long player.

Is that working on the theory that if you say his name three times, he appears and starts another thread about how he heard something else that 'proves' SMFP is recording a new album? Hmmm.... Beetlesplash? Madjuice?
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

You're so right - it is no big deal. Journey references are everywhere throughout tv shows. I saw two on reruns recently as well:

Just Shoot Me - David Spade singing DSB into an open champagne bottle

And one of the silliest uses -

Yes Dear - When one of the toddlers finally goes "pottie" by himself, the Dad breaks out singing DSB

Well Splahdemort? :P   (snicker) can cool his jets on this one. The writers now are of our age, so duh, references to what they know. The 80's. Also they have been mentioning and saying Journey related stuff for years. No biggie!

I saw an episode of ICarly where the teacher had a spare room dedicated to all things Randy Jackson. lol. It's funny how many references to Journey come up on t.v. But, I'm a little afraid this might happen!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxDHR_8sbUY

Yeah, I've heard Journey mentioned tons of times on TV. I only bothered to mention those two because they were on the exact same night.

Scrubs has mentioned Journey on several occasions, and even played DSB in an episode. Just Shoot Me mentioned Journey. I can't remember all of the shows that I've seen that have mentioned Journey.

Like I mentioned, last night on "The Big Bang Theory" they were singing Any Way You Want It. Then later in the night in a different episode of Still Standing Judy was wearing her Frontiers tour shirt.

I might need to copyright that before he snags it as the title of his next album (Greatest Hits III).
