Alex's Axework.....

Postby G.I.Jim » Sun Apr 12, 2009 7:22 am

Just figured Alex deserved his own thread about his guitar work...especially on our song "Losing You". He's just completed his best solo ever, and I just wanted everyone to check it out!

He's not trying to be another Malmsteen or anything, but what he played just completely rocks the song, and I don't think I would change a single note! It starts around the 3:15 mark. Hope you like it.

Sorry Jim, I can't get the palyer to work. Anyone else having this problem or is it just me? I know it worked before, because I listened to your music about a week or two ago. :(

It does that to me to sometimes...just refresh the page. You may have to do it a couple of times, but it'll work.

I like it! And yes... the guitar work is good and fits the song. Nice solo at the end.

I agree. Can you believe that he wanted to redo it?  I told him I LOVED it the way it was. It really is his best solo yet. I can't wait to polish "If We Believe". I think it's definitely going to be our best song.

I also love the solo he came up with on "Long Night". Around the 2:50 mark. Very cool stuff! :D

I like it, but it does remind me a bit of Foreigner's 'Cold As Ice' at the beginning.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

The beginning reminds me of "I'm Not Gonna Write You a Love Song".

Thanks. That was actually intentional. I was jamming on "Cold As Ice" one day, and came up with my song. I could have changed it more, but to me this is a nod to the original. I'm definitely going for an 80's sound with the songs, and figured it'd be cool to have that similarity. thanks for the feedback though!
