That's all I know also... I went there once for the breakfast buffet... not bad! It's one of the older hotels, so it's maybe not as nice/upscale looking as the ones along the newer end of the Strip, but it seemed pretty nice, from what I could tell.

Main Street Station is downtown, but has been totally redone in the last 10 years. It has an awesome brew-pub. Other place that are great downtown are Binion's Restaurant in Binion's. The California has the best Hawaiian restaraunt in town. If you want an upscale night out, Hugo's Cellar in the Four Queens is a locals favorite for fine dining, but it is expensive and definately for special occasions.

Cashman Field is right down the street. The is where the AAA baseball team plays. They are in town and it is a fun and cheap night out.

I'm going May 2-10, if you find something cool to do or see that is NOT one of the big time shows, I would love to know. Local bands, that sort of thing. Have a great time!!!

Let's see... it has a bed... some carpet... a bathroom... a few mirrors... a couple of lamps... two nightstands... a TV... a telephone... and a heat/air unit in the window. If you dial zero on the phone, the front desk will answer. Oh yeah, and it's on Main Street.

Anything else you need to know?

I just relocated to Las Vegas 2 months ago, and have been checking out the local music scene. I have found several GREAT local bands.

1. Yellow Brick Road - classic rock... PERIOD.
2. The FAB - This is a group that plays the Beatles, they are NOT a tribute band. A few weeks ago i saw them play the 'white album' . Totally cool.
2. Sin City Sinners - is a band made up of ex- members of Faster Pussycat, and others. everyweek end they bring in others to play with them.

Hey...thanks StoneCold! I think you're one of the first to recall a post of mine! :D

My post was a plug for Bill's Gamblin Hall. Great place to stay. Outside of that little old place...my biggest recommendation is to grab a cocktail at the Voodoo Lounge over at the Rio. I'm not hip or rich enough to party up there at night so we go for happy hour (no specials...just our own happy hour). It opens at 5 I believe and it is awesome to sit out on the open air deck, 50 stories up and watch the sun set and the lights of the strip slowly come on.
