They sang well...I just don't care for the song being done with run-ons and it lacks emotion.

LOL...well I think they "made it thier own" and they both have great voices...so again, props! Its never gonna sound as GREAT as Journeys version...thats a given...but still...I love hearing this song sung by people that can at least hold a tune! :D :D :D

For me she is like a maryah wannabe, he sound a little better altought....but for being honest and give you my true opinion i think that most of the people that sing in American Idol sucks..i don't feel real passion...their voices don't get to me at all :?

I actually prefer Clay to Kelly in this version. I guess I prefer a more straightforward delivery without all the vocal gymnastics. It seems that many singers today think that the more runs they put in a song the better the singer they are.

Yep. They're definitely using the Mariah Carey arrangement with all the (unnecessary) runs and things. I prefer Clay's delivery on this one. Kelley seems to have taken a page from the Mariah school of singing with OVER doing the runs.

That video is from the "Independent Tour" from several years ago. There may be other videos, but sometimes Kelly would come out really dressed up for that particular song at the end of the show, if memory serves. Even though I used to love Clay Aiken, I never cared for that version.
