The girl is plum crazy, most likely due to all the time she has been in the public eye. She can sing, I just dont see that drive she had when she was young to make really powerful music.

You know, Mariah is awesome - well she was when she first came out anyway. However! there is only one person on this planet who sang Open Arms without sounding too girly or just plain boring with no soul or real emotion, and that is Steve Perry!. The rest?... yeah whatever.

You people are all nuts. She's got a sweet spot in her voice that is incredible. I agree about the vocal runs though, that's not my thing at all. But she sings her ass off. I'm as tired of Open Arms as anyone, but her interpretation of it was very good.

This song really does require the right touch and today's divas kill the emotion with their oversinging. Mariah Carey has an amazing voice, but even she can't compete with Steve Perry's version.

I felt exactly opposite. I thought that performance was filled with emotion.


I 2nd that! I thought she put alot of emotion in this song. Im not a big fan of her "normal"....but she can sing this anytime!! =P
