OT: Adam Lambert on Idol

I agree, I would like to see Adam do his own thing, and somehow I think he will. I did notice how genuine they both seem, and how gracious Adam was at coming in second. They both, along with Allison, will do well. They should have been the top three.

Don't the Idol contestants remain tied to the Idol "chain that binds forever" contract for a specific amount of time? That alone will make it interesting to see what direction the three of them take.


I see that Hasselhoff did show up. Some were wondering. That's right, I forgot, he has recorded "music," so I guess he should be there. But a judge???? CNN has lost it. That, along with even suggesting it, would be pathetic at best.

He had the chance to sing with Fuel, probably known best for the songs "Shimmer," "Bad Day," and "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)." They weren't a bad band, wonder what they are up to these days

Adam and Queen, Adam and Slash- it looks like he's on his way. Kind of the same thing with Daughtry a few years ago. I noticed when Kris sang with Keith Urban (a song that I really thought was decent), that when it was over, Kris turned to Urban and Urban was already taking his guitar off and walking off. Looked like a bit of a slight and the cameras panned away quickly.

I thought Kiss looked ridiculous actually, though Adam did well with them. I still shudder when I think of Kiss at the Olympics a few years ago... embarrassing. I thought Peter Criss wasn't in the band any longer, did they just get a guy to wear his makeup? In fact, I wondered that about all of them till Paul spoke.

I was bummed by Rod's performance. It was only a half step down, but it sounded way lower. His voice is really struggling. Too bad.

The drummer is Eric Singer - been in the band since Eric Carr died. And Ace isn't Ace either - that is Tommy Thayer.

Even the crappy "No Boundaries" sounds better with studio magic.

Done, and agreed! (I bought the video AND the audio for that one). This is the first year I've been so busy on I-Tunes with Idol stuff - last year I bought a few of Michael Johns' tunes ('til he got booted off); this year I downloaded every single one of Adam's songs (well, except No Boundaries - it does sound better but it's still a crappy song ). Guess I'm officially obsessed.

It was on last night - I fell asleep and just woke up as that sneaky little cute arsed Kris was singing and the credits were rolling.
It is repeated today so I have set the recorder so I can watch it all.

I'm not too bothered he came second because he will be able to make his own choices after the American Idol tour is over.

What is interesting is that the night he won I commented that they didn't say it was a close vote, and they always do if it was close. Now it's being said it definitely wasn't close. I honestly don't believe it was the gay, flamboyant thing that lost it for him. It was the teens love the heartthrob and play a huge part in voting. Also, Adam did have a few performances where his upper register really is shrill and thin sounding. I don't like it. But, overall, Adam is a star and those peformances you mentioned were standouts and blew me away with his talent. He'll do fine. Chris in all of his interviews after seems so subdued and low key, when he needs to show some kind of personality. I don't know how he will fare longterm.

When the Idol your is over we will see what they come up with. And see how many of them we can even remember by that time! [When they all did their group number I struggled to remember some of their names!]

The fact that people like Slash and Brian May are saying positive things about some contestants indicates that some of them will not sink without trace.

Although I don't think Pink will be inviting any of them to be her support act on tour!
She is allegedly not very pleased because she thinks they 'butchered' her song!

All in all I think it's been a good season.

LOL, like I said before, IMO they're like chocolate and vanilla. Seriously the only one that stood out for me of Kris' was that great performance with Keith Urban......but then I wasn't really watching Kris either.
