OT: Happy Memorial Weekend... aka I Love 3G.

Postby Rhiannon » Sun May 24, 2009 5:13 am

Just wishing you all a fanatstic holiday weekend! So much thanks and gratitude going out to our men & women in service to our nation and those who have done their part. I hugged a random Marine (yum) waiting on my plane this morning. He didn't mind.

Which brings me to... anybody else here with 3G service from your wireless provider? I am in serious like with my 09 Sidekick LX. I last minute booked a flight to Charlotte this am and I didn't get the 3G data value until now. Makes these trips away from the city much more bearable. :P

Coming to you poolside from my Dad's backyard in Bumblefuck, NC enjoying my first day of sunsponging...

Have a fantastic weekend everyone! Hug a Vet! :D

I didn't get your text until the next day, and looked up what the Sidekick is, looks neat! I'm rough on phones though, I'm pretty sure I'd break anything with an open screen :( . I'm getting the Lotus soon, full QWERTY but flips shut so I can't destroy the keys so easily

I hug a vet everytime I hug my dad 8) Have a good time!

My son used to have a sidekick. He has an unlocked IPhone now. Tmobile was so cool about setting it up and swiching over the plan. He's very happy wth it, especially the apps. He uses his TV as a computer monitor and the phone as a mouse/keyboard combo while chilling on his bed.

Thank you for that, same to you and to the troops and vets.

No disrespect meant, my dear, but am I so stupid  that I had no idea there was an actual place called Bumblefuck, NC or are you making fun of your dad's residence? If you ARE making fun, "tee, hee, she said bumblef*ck. Then I guess I'm from "HugahippyButtf*ckFingerhockey, California!" snort, chuckle, gasp. If it is not a joke and your dad really does live in Bumblefuck, NC, my apologies, I'm an idiot. Enjoy, L :D

Bumblefuck is a real place to those who seek it.

Nahh... I'm in a far suburb of Charlotte about to head to Virginia and surprise my mom. As soon as I can swipe my Dad's keys. Funny how I always had a car and never had to swipe keys from a parent and now almost a decade later I finally have to! :P

GB, that's sweet about your boy's iPhone. I can't handle the keypad, I need buttons. Plus my swivel screen reminds me of a switchblade. So far t-mobile has been cool to me too.

Melly and Fu... I'm back in the southern humidity! I'm a happy girl! :D

While I get and fully agree with the point you're trying to convey here, they aren't applicable. Sure I have access to the internet at disposal. I wonder if anyone looks around at the world and appreciates every little delicate intricate detail the way I do. My introspection of the external around me cuts deeper than you could assume.

My joy regarding my access to the world from my phone is just another outlet of expression. There's nothing wrong or shameful about being connected nor does it mean that one is lacking depth or perspective because they enjoy it.

No, we don't need internet everywhere. I personally scarcely use it outside of work. But it is nice to know that when you're wanting to communicate, you can. It's not like I'm anywhere new. I spent two decades where I am tonight, and it hasn't changed. I can enjoy and respect that while realizing why I'm glad I was lucky enough to get out.

And that is why for me, having web access from my phone is a nice treat.
