It's the same with Adam Lambert... he's obviously not everyone's cup of tea.

People are annoying me. Your not supposed to be talking about how crap you think the arrangement of the song is.. he didnt make it up. You are supposed to be hearing how he is a very good singer.. dear me.

I hear you... it's way too gay and feminine to watch. It makes me feel sorry for the guy. Not that I have anything against gays, this is just a freak of nature.

Personally I think the singing is lame. He may have a high voice for a guy, but it's only because he has the vocal chords of a little girl. That is the freaky part.

Jeremey wrote:I don't care if the guy's gay or not, but he DOES have an amazing voice.

That's what I said about Adam Lembert, but not this guy. There's something that screams way-too-gay about him. I don't see that in Adam, Rob Halford, Freddie Mercury, and other gay rock artists.

+1 I don't care if a singer is gay. There are a LOT of gay singers out there that I think are very talented...just not this guy! Our very own Bobby is a great singer. I'm a fan of Elton, Manillow, Mercury, George Michaels, Perry. etc... This guy just sounds rediculous.

This guy is better than Lambert, much better control of the voice. Who won Idol anyway? I'll check.... ok, Kris won it.

Didn't see that coming lol... I think Adam is tons better than Kris, much much better, but... that's not saying a lot. So much for talent shows...

That is not a good falsetto...he's only pulling air from the very top of his chest and several times he runs out and pushes to finish a word in several places with just the air left in his head. He gets raspy and even spits words in a few places. This is not a smooth, well sung falsetto...to me it sounds like a boy going through a voice change and his voice cracks sometimes. At points he can extend a note but , as I said, many times it's forced and he completely runs out of air several times and cuts off short. It sounds like a put on girly voice done like a young guy would do in a joking way rather then a well sung smooth transitioning falsetto voice. In ways this brings Peter Brady to mind.

The da da da's by background singers throughout the song like many college ensembles do and what he uses here is just completely monotonous and cheesy sounding too....it turns DSB from a rock song into a high school musical number. Some have thought DSB was cheesy anyway...with this kind of treatment of the song everyone would agree it's cheesy as heck, not just some. I see this type of rendition as being more in the vein of making light of and don't see it as complimentary of the song at all. It sounds awful...or in other words, I think it sucks and it's an abomination of the tune.

Those synth horns or whatever they are aping Neal's classic "train" riff on the second verse are just too much for me. I just start laughing.

Yep, there's that too....horns added and the guitar has almost been taken out completely...it is only very faint in the background when you listen for it. It takes a rock song and makes it into the local high school musical "production".
This kinda makes ya feel like you're sitting in the bleachers in the gym, checking your watch bored out of your mind but being there only in support of a friend thats in the show.

No problem. I do think that when he isn't forcing falsetto..when he's singing the " alternate" part in his normal range... he has a good voice.

Months and months (maybe years?) ago, my daughter showed me this guy on the Tube doing a cover of Mariah Carey/Boyz 2 Men's One Sweet Day. this guy does a fairly convincing Mariah Carey, which is saying something, since there probably aren't many WOMEN who can do that. i find both that and this at least somewhat impressive, in a freakyscarycreepy sorta way.
