I can see them flying in a part that isn't there (acoustic guitar that they recorded on the original track, but can't play live) but vocals? Come on...

Didn't Frontiers and ROR have heavily layerd BGV's (like a dozen or so layers) on some songs? How can you replicate that live?

Yes, we refer to it here as "the chorus of Perry's". Another MRism. And another sign that Perry was taking over the controls and driving the bus over the cliff.

Say what you want, but NOTHING beats the harmony sound they had on the Infinity, Evolution, and Departure albums. Not sure if it was Rolie's voice being in there or the way they were recorded, but I prefer how nobody's voice stood out in the harmony mix and always try and mix harmonies that way. It was like this complete other vocal identity. On ROR especially, you can hear the harmonies being Perry mostly and I prefer the old way they did it. Just sounded bigger more like a band than a solo kind of thing. Just my 2 cents...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

So, does their new bus get better gas mileage?

They still had great harmonies during the Frontiers tour, the sound checks they did were still live and sounded good, even with Frigas trap in there
