All you Blues lovers, If you get the Smithsonian Channel on your cable or satellite, there is a great series that just started tonite you might want to check out.

"Smithsonian Channel's Sound Revolution is a six-part weekly series hosted by award-winning actor Morgan Freeman. Documentary footage, expert interviews and performances by great musicians trace the origins of be-bop, jazz, rock 'n' roll and soul music, all emanating from “ground zero” – Clarksdale, Mississippi – and the Mississippi Delta"

The first episode features performances by BB King, Ike Turner, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Buddy Guy & Etta James.

Yeah, so did I, well at least Tina got the last laugh in the end didn't she?

I first saw Tina on a side stage at Milwaukee's Summerfest right after she started her comeback after leaving Ike. She was wearing that cave woman outfit, had a small band backing her up and 2 dancers. This was a few years before she recorded Private Dancer. The place was as packed as I'd ever seen it standing room was full, Tina was awesome, a force of nature. I've seen her since on the big stage after, but nothing could ever come close to matching that night.
