I was VERY surprised to see Oh Sherrie on here. How did they decide on which songs to include?

I've seen that show a couple of times on Broadway. The songs tell a story through the show. It's about two people who meet on the Sunset Strip...one named Drew, who wants to be a rock star, and one named Sherrie, who wants to be an actress. It's the story of how they meet and fall in love. Drew is played by Constantine Maroulis from American Idol. It's really a great show. Very funny! And the audience members each get little lcd lighters to hold up during the show. Lots of audience involvement too, singing and dancing along with the cast.

Based on that storyline - Souls by Rick Springfield would have been a perfect song.....

I haven't seen the show, so I can't really comment on how the songs are performed but I can't see myself really picking this soundtrack up since it consists of all covers. I know what the premise of the play is supposed to be, but I would rather listen to the originals (well, except for DSB  ) than a soundtrack of all covers, with not at least one original cast track included. I understand that the play doesn't have one of those, but it might be more enticing to get the public to shell out some additional cash, if it included something that isn't already available in another form. :::shrug:::

Rock of Ages

Just saw the show Friday night. While I thought the first half of the show was pretty good (wife, daughter and mother in law loved it), the second half was fantastic. And it just amazed me when the entire audience (lower level and mezzanine) got to their feet and sang along to DSB. I still remember the first time I heard the song on my sister's record player. I was blown away then, and to see it have even more of an impact these past few years blows me away even more now.

To digress a bit: I still recall looking at the album sleeve wondering where the heck Gregg was -- none of the black and white figures looked like him. Was he out of the band??? Didn't even know who Friga was....

Sherrie is the name of one of the characters in the musical, hence, the song...

The whole show is done very very well and is hysterical.

I would recommend going to see it anyone.
