Cool new station & Remembering Woodstock

Gunbot mentioned this radio station a few days ago and I finally got around to checking it out.

Excellent, good variety of old and semi old, rarely heard tracks (deep cuts I guess you'd call them?). Reminds me of the great rock stations that USED to exist in the late 80's.

1969 I was 16 years old getting ready to start my senior year in high school. As a child growing up in the post WWII era the late 60's was an amazing time to live through. Younger people cannot begin to imagine the cultural paradeim shift that started in the 60's culmanating in Woodstock. I was not able to go to Woodstock but I do remember when I first saw the movie, I cried, from just experiencing even a little of the joy, freedom and optimisim that that event represented. The music was incredible and much of it still stands the test of time today.

It was an awesome feeling being so in tune with nature, sleeping under the stars, music blaring all hours of the night, rain, mud, Joe Cocker, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez --- & who can forget Hendrix!?!?!? Not to mention all the free love & the smell of pot that hovered throughout the air. You got a buzz whether you intended to or not. I wish I could go back & do it all over again. Woodstock was unbelieveable!!!! Such a sureal moment in all our lives. I'll never experience anything quite like that ever again.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!! Woodstock was in '69. I was born in '78. Drats! Musta been a dream.

Not the melee that occurred, just the audience I was a part of. It was a blast up until some idiots had to ruin it. Thank God I don't remember much. (Don't ask me why.) The Sound is the radio station I usually listen to & been hearing the Woodstock music. I was 9 yrs old then but I saw the movie in the 70s...didn't like the whole druggy, dirty hair/clothes thing, but I still identify with the nature/mother earth/flower child thing. We wore the love beads, fringe, patchwork maxi skirts... Such a pivotal time.

I was driving back from the beach this afternoon, listening. I really enjoy this station. I haven't heard any post-Captured Journey so far. I have heard Feeling That Way/ Anytime and what came as a real pleasant surprise, Good Morning Girl/ Stay Awhile. Most people forget that the latter was actually a Hot 100 song back in the day, peaking at #55.
