On a brighter note, I'm looking forward to the Manila DVD and the upcoming documentary. :D :D :D

That's crackpot logic. I've enjoyed every incarnation of Journey, but it's like calling someone who only liked DLR-fronted Van Halen just a "David fan." It's the line-up they liked. I'm not gonna stop being a "Guess Who" fan just because the alcoholic bassist and the old drummer have and use the legal rights to the name to tour without the heart and soul of the band, Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings. Am I just a Burton and Randy fan for that? Kinda asinine I think...

Ehwmatt, I take it you're like me as far as being satisfied is concerned. I know there is a lot of history here as far as fans of the band go, and I respect that, but for me.. I am one to be easily convinced. I put myself in the category of accepting now rather than then or what could of been.

I find many people here that won't allow themselves to enjoy the current, or past lineups for whatever reason. Even though that's fine, I feel they are missing out for their own good. People are just anal creatures, about many things. As soon as the lineup steps out in front of me at a concert, all the talk, all of the controversy, all of the criticism and also the praise goes away for me and I enjoy the music and the atmosphere. That's what it's all about to me. I enjoy seeing Journey for their music, period. Sometimes people look WAY into things, thus making themselves miserable. You get it, Ehwmatt.

Maybe, Matt. But, my post is directed at the few regular detractors who like to drop in and say shit about them, whenever anyone is having a discussion about Journey current. If they admit they are not a fan of the current lineup, then what purpose do they serve posting these threads, other than to stir shit? I do realize that is some people's mission in life. It get's quite tiresome. I won't be going into the Perry forum and crapping in it anytime soon.

OTOH, maybe with out all that this place would be boring.

Believe it or not, this place is known for nothing but turmoil. Even during the offseason so to speak, we find ways to keep it going. I look to these forums as passionate fans to music, but more importanly a community who can talk about anything about any topic and take it from there.

To me, if a thread goes 8 pages of talking ALL about "How Steve Perry's voice is so much better than.." ... then it gets pretty lame, and I exit out. It's an entertaining place because of the different topics and many characters with different opinions. Some threads make me gag, furious, and laugh. Even though the Loons will fight for their man to death, it is just a part of the MR community.

Maybe cause we're younger and didn't grow up to get attached to the original line-up in its heyday... but in my case I really don't think so. Like you said, for me it's about the music... if it sounds good, I'm going to enjoy it whether it's the first singer or twentieth singer. If it's a band with replacement(s) that is not producing ANYTHING new, that's perhaps where I draw the line... or if the band is so far gutted that it's not even the band any more... think if Michael Anthony owned the rights to the VH name and got replacement singer, durmmer, and guitarist to play all the old hits.

You know what I would buy this post from almost anyone else but you.....you are one of the people who continue to stir shit on a daily basis....so pardon us if we feel the need to post. Andrew has made it clear that there would be crossover into both forums and there has been....I have seen your AV on more than one post downstaris and the posts were not flattering by any means. AND BTW I WAS A JOURNEY FAN FIRST!!!! and I continue to listen to my CD's on a weekly basis....not just Perry but I do listen to Arrival often. Maybe if every Youtube of every performance was not posted there would not be so much opportunity for us (tiresome posters as you put it) to chime in. So as I see your wink at the end of your post saying that you won't be crapping the the Perry Forum anytime soon I will take that statement for what it is  So pardon us for having a different view of things but then you are always right so why do I bother!!

One more thing as I have been accused of not being a fan of Journey....I would know more deep cuts than most of the "fans" that are attending the current shows.....so saying that I am not a Journey fan because I don't care for the current lineup is total and complete bullshit!!!!

The thing that kills me is that this all started from a post that was made of a Youtube that the preformance was not up to par that was posted by one of the biggest AP fans here.....so if you don't want to hear it from us detractors who have been fans from the start of this band then maybe just maybe you or any other AP fan should not post a link of something that you know is going to get this kind of response!!

When fans realize that he can no longer sing, maybe then they will STFU and the current fans can finally enjoy them without the fuckin Perry loon interventions in every Arnel fronted Journey thread. Journey is still a great band...yes, even fronted by Arnel Pineda. For his few faults, he brings the fans a great deal of enjoyment. Hell, Herbie Herbert has gone on record as saying SP can no longer sing. No matter what is said around here I will still listen to and support the current band. I am a Journey fan. Those who claim to be Journey fans, but out the other side of their mouths are dissing AP or other members of Journey, are not Journey fans in my book. They are Perry fans. (that's ok, but call it what it is)

There's a good and evil side to everything, I guess.

I am LMAO....Poooortlaaannnndddd!!!!
He just described himself so perfectly, didn't he...I don't say things like this very often
but he's a strange little f*cker!!!

Oh, but MG, you got one part wrong....I'm not little

Portland - Why are you wasting keystokes on me? You do understand this is a waste of time, right?
I'm an asshole. Actually, not IRL, just on the internet. It comes with the territory around here.  :D

Look who’s talking?! You’re one of the most shit-stirrers I’ve known on this board. We post our comments and viewpoints because we are Journey fans. No one is denigrating anyone … but you certainly are prone to target Perry fans in your posts. The day this board becomes BackTalk reincarnated is the day I stop visiting.

And you know SP can’t sing anymore … how? Because HH says so? … don’t make us laugh!!!
