Hey fuckhead, you have any idea what a pioneer Les Paul was? Invented so many guitar features and also invented the multi track recorder.

Fucking douches like you need to drive into a tree on your way home from metal practice. Metal, LOL. Dude, give me an out of tune guitar, an amp set at 10, and a butter knife and I can play speed metal.

Could be wrong but I think MR was trying to say, "We wouldn't hear most of our favorite music... without old L.P. Would a metal fan (redneck or not) wanna bash LP for inventing the solid body?

Anyway for those of you that subscribe to Netflix, they're featuring an instant watch rocumentary on him called "Chasing Sound". Pretty good show.

The dude made a few grammatical errors and ended up getting his colon rinsed with petrol. No wonder he only averages a dozen posts a year.

If that is all MR was saying, then have him clear it up a bit. I looked up pulvus: it is latin I beleive for dust? am I correct?
Memento homom quia pulvus, et in pulverem reverteris.......
Remember, man, that you are dust; and unto dust you shall return.

Lester Polsfuss = Les Paul

So he just suffers from Frigabonics? LOL! Funny his mispelling then means dust! LOL!

Hey a4p, I know you're a teacher (art) but have you forgotten your misspellings already? Should I go back and find some for you?

I know, I know, all that'll get me is another cat attack and I really don't want to litter Les Paul's RIP thread with those. But in honor of Mr. Paul, I'll link a tune you'll enjoy.

The documentary I mentioned earlier was excellent. Appearances by Jeff Beck, EVH, Chet Atkins, Keith Richards and many others.

I remember reading a story of how he saw Jimi Hendrix playing in some dive in the south before he hit it big. They were on a tight schedule to some meeting so couldn't stick around to talk to him but went back a few days later to find him. Jimi was gone with no forwarding address and the next time Les saw him was on the cover of an album.

RIP Les.

SC I could say I have made quite a few! And will probably make a few more. I appologize if I missunderstood. I went so far as to look up the word didn't I to be sure I was not reading it wrong? I think it is cool the word he chose is latin for dirt. Especialy when talking about a man who has returned to the earth. I just could not understand what he wrote. :D

I have that Les Paul and Friends CD. Dan got it for me as a gift. :D

Lol, Billy Squier redeems his frigaliciousness by introducing and jamming a little with Les and Jeff here. The vid poster writes that Beck duct taped his Strat cord 'cause Les had threatened to yank it out.

Love this CD!

Sad to hear about the passing of Les Paul, makes my LP accoustic owned and signed by Neal even more special to me. :)
We were to visit NY early next month and planned to make it to the club where he played almost every weekend.

RIP, Les, you will be missed.

Well, my favorite, SRV, didn't play a Les Paul. Don't know that he even owned one but I'm sure if he was around he'd have given old Les Pulvas some kudos so an SRV clip in tribute.

Neal comments on Les Paul:

R.I.P. Les Paul
Thursday, August 13, 2009 - 10:24 pm - neal_schon
I consider myself so lucky to have met and played with Les.

What a great man. He was also quick, witty and had a great sense of humor. Always joking and carrying on not to mention THE inventor of electric guitar and multitrack recording. An absolute monster guitar player that many have borrowed from...

He will be missed but never forgotten.

With love and admiration,

Neal

Wheww...
We played in Rockford Ill. then drove to Cleveland got off the bus and jumped on a plane to N.Y. to pay my respects to Les and his family . It was a very wonderful service and glad I went. It was good his long time band mates and hear them play.. very touching.
I know Les was smiling.

Took us forever to get back last night... airline delays... geeezzzz.
Anyway hit the bed last night and slept about 12 hours and now driving to the gig..
See you all tonight,
