Anybody DVR a lot on digital cable?

Postby Ehwmatt » Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:25 am

Some of my recordings seem to be skipping a lot when I play them back... I know the channels woulda been fine if I had watched the show. Any idea why? The drive isn't anywhere near full, this is happening with only 3 or 4 hours worth of material...

Matt, you need to call the company you DING DONG!!!   We've had to replace 3 DVR's from Dish Network in the last 2 years. They would sometimes lose the show's we had taped, then other times wouldn't record them at ALL! :x Just call them, and they'll send you a new one.

I don't know what to tell you, if it's only happening on one channel. HD channels do take up a lot more space though, so maybe that's your problem. Watch that shit on the non-HD channel and see if it does it. If not, it just doesn't want you to watch those shitty shows! Try recording some HD "24", and I bet that shit will work like a charm. :D

I'm a DVR addict!

Haven't had any problems with it lately though.

I like my comedy - 30 Rock, Parks and Rec, The Office... Used to watch L & O but not so much anymore.

I've only seen 30 Rock a couple times but that shit is hilarious from what I've seen

The Office is great, I've kinda lost track of it the last season or two though, but I've caught a few episodes this season... I saw the one where Michael Scott was runnin around in his van as the Michael Scott Paper Company... LOL funny shit

30 Rock is really a gem. Not many watch it, but I do and I'm hooked.

The Michael Scott character seems to get more hysterical with every episode...Steve Carrell is a genius!
