Augeri "On Sale"

Postby Enigma869 » Wed Sep 02, 2009 3:50 am

Just got back from a quick run to Wal-Mart. Every Perry era cd is $9.00+, while Arrival is being sold for an even $5.00. Thankfully, that abortion "Generations" wasn't even for sale. I actually picked up a copy of Arrival, as I can't seem to locate my copy. Great price for a really good cd!

Thanks for the info! I didn't realize they sold "Arrival", and for that price I'll pick up a few this afternoon to give away or donate to the silent auction at JTTC next year. Best Buy still stocks "Generations" and sells it for $5.99 or $6.99.

Every time I make a run to Wal Mart, I look for Arrival since my buddy decided to shred it and scratch the absolute living SHIT out of it when he borrowed it, but my local WM never has it. I have to keep looking, I need to snag this again. One of my favorite CD's.

Just as an FYI, you can also purchase it on Wal-Mart's website for the same $5.00. I don't even buy CD's any longer, but couldn't pass it up for $5.00!

Ever thought about investing in a cd/dvd repair kit?

I have a hunch that a CD repair kit would cost more than the $5.00 that Wal Mart is selling this cd for!

To a certain extent, depends on how bad the scratched CD is. My buddy looks like he used it to chop wood with.. literally. I don't know how he did it, but it cannot be salvaged. I'll just do what JFB said, that's as easy as it gets.

Did he offer to pay for it? That happened to me once (and never again)... Loaned a friend my brand new live Queensryche DVD ("Tribe" tour), and when returned it looked like he'd used it as a sander disc. I hadn't even watched it. And no, he didn't offer to replace it either. I just don't get that.

It really ain't worth lending shit out to people... I gave my buddy my Porcupine Tree DVD and really just forgot about it for a while, then I was looking for it one day and remembered he had it. I ask him for it back "Sure man, next time I see you." Well, the next time I had to ask him he pretended like he never had it in the first place.

Maybe someone can explain how they work better, but my understanding is that even in the stores that "buff" the scratches out of your CD's, they use some type of wax to basically fill in the scratches. They do look better but it just seems kinda iffy to my. My best CD protection plan is like Ehmwatt said -- don't loan them out. I don't even let my wife touch my CD's or DVD's, because all hers are scratched to hell. I found a DVD face down on the carpet near the bathroom the other day and really put heat on her about it. Couldn't even get a straight answer as to why putting it there in the middle of a walking path was easier than placing in on the table right next to it.

Love her to death, but a few years ago she scratched up all my ASIA CD's and they still haven't been replaced. She's not getting her hands on my new Stryper CD, either. :)

Absolutely NOTHING worse than the famous "leave the CD out on the floor/stereo stand when the case is right there" trick. I love when someone will take it out, leave it on top of its own case, with nothing inside the case... why not just put it back? I too get really pissed whenever someone does this to my CDs/DVDs

LOL...yeah, or this WAS our webmaster. Same amount of turnover, if not more....

I'd have to wonder whether or not every job function save for Friga, Fro, Ross or Castro's has been turned over at least 2-3 times....

None of those repairs work. When the CD is scratched to the point where it gets the same glitches on different CD players...it's time to get a new CD.

One tip Is that you could try ripping the CD to a high quality mp3 or wav....and then reburning. CD players tend to pull differently from a CD Rom thats ripping...and you might not get the glitch. Then, if you can live with owning a CD thats scratched, but you have the mp3s to listen to....then no need to buy another.
