I'm not straining at all, just singing full force with emotion, and I feel that's what the song calls for. But, everyone has an opinion and I don't fault anyone for expressing them.
Those notes I'm hitting are Bs and Cs, high for any tenor to hit in full voice. AND, after listening to it a few hundred times, I don't hear any flat notes, maybe a nuanced one here and there (LOL), but the recording is done without any pro-tools or fancy editing, because I don't have pro-tools and I suck at fancy editing. However, some people hear things differently and it's always good to get feedback, positive and "constructive"., but it doesn't mean anything about the song will change.
I recorded it for fun, had a wonderful time doing it and it's a finished project. It's a song I sang for the first time when I was 16 or 17 years old and it brought the house down. To record it now at 43 and still be able to do it in the original key, is kinda cool. LOL
I'm always nervous to share anything with others, but the overall reaction has been so positive it makes me want to be even better.
I thank you all who have praised me and also those who think it could be a little better.
What'd you think of the David Pack tunes, particularly Brand New Start?
