This one, by far! This performance stands out as THE BEST for me. All 5 of them firing on all cylinders! Still stunning to watch/listen to almost 30 years later. :)

Opened the Door off of the Comiskey Park bootleg--absolutely stunning finale to a magnificant setlist--sounds operatic to me. I will never forget it.

That's a sure killer too. Neal is magic on that track.

SERIOUS???
Man, I find that and "Just the Rain" to be the most BORING and AIMLESS tracks that Journey ever did.
Wow, to each his own.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I like Destiny from Dream After Dream. Actually, I think the whole album is superb and can be considered a masterpiece in itself.

YES!!!!! That is by far my favorite Journey album. (I'm listening to it right now, actually.. ha ha.)

I started a worship-thread for Dream after Dream a few months ago, though, and I seemed to be the only one... who... worshipped it. So it's good to know someone else really likes it. :)

That's a hell of a tone too... that's the only reason I'd stick around to see it live... I love when the overdrive kicks in on the solo with those double stops. Sounds GREAT, along with the descending bluesy run that follows.

That whole "Infinity" album is great as far as Neal's tone goes and there are excellent solos on almost every tune. One of my favorite guitar albums of all time.

Mother, Father and Winds of March.

Perry's vocals on those two songs, especially live, are untouchable.

AND....the entire "Trial by Fire" Album. Those songs were their deepest work as musicians. A true masterpiece. IMHO, of course.

That's a hard lick. I actually figured it out once, but to play it live... holy crap.

You know to be honest I've never sat down and tried to learn any of Lights cuz I just don't care for it. Maybe I'll sit down with that solo tonight. It would be a good excuse to finally restring my Strat, those strings lost their sustain a cpl weeks ago

good place to learn some Journey... this guy does it really well

I'm sorry ladies, but that song blows. :) Just the thought of seeing Valory tripping around with some maracas and Friga, looking (analy) probed up as usual, laying the smacket down on a panpipe, makes my stomach turn.

It sure is. And those "animal" sounds in the beginning, is infact Valory after a mean ass shellfish burrito.

There's a reason why Friga always keeps his recorder at hand, even if it's a somewhat dodgy mexican slumber party with the J-boyz.

Journey has many wonderfully crafted music. Their music consistently showcase the band's talent for maximum impact, from the soaring vocals to Neal's guitar work.

For me, a song to be considered a masterpiece, it should have maximum impact and mass appeal. This is why I chose Separate Ways and DSB.

This was done by Vanderbilly who owns vanderbilly.com--he has tons of free guitar lesson videos there--I think FishinMagician is a member, too... Anyway, Vanderbilly counts Neal as his favorite guitarist... (Vanderbilly is quite the looker, too, by the way :) )

Change For the Better -- the sequel to Escape, fantastic lyrics and message, in addition to stellar musicianship and vocals courtesy of Arnel.

Why Can't This Night Go On Forever -- the greatest vocal performance ever, a stunning duet between Perry and Neal's guitar, and beautiful keyboard undertones.

Higher Place & Signs of Life -- Augeri's finest moments, superb lyrics and melodies.

Sweet and Simple -- stellar vocal acrobatics by Perry and a powerful chorus.

Escape -- same reasons as Change For the Better, replace Arnel with Perry.

If He Should Break Your Heart -- best Journey song ever.
