Wait until you see Arnel live. The boots you see, or the DVD's you see don't do him or the band justice, esp right up there 1st row with overloaded of freshness he breathes into the band. I've seen Arnel 5 times and each time he got even better. I was at his first Vegas show back in March of '08 and I think everyone attending dropped their jaws when he came out and belted out the first lines of AWYWI. The dude has some serious energy and even if someone is NOT a fan of the band, they have no choice but to pump their fist and I've seen this first hand.

Just like JSS, people like you build him up to an impossible level. He has faults and is not some kind of savior.

Just as Perry, and Augeri, and JSS have their disciples who praise their chosen one - so does Arnel...and the truth is a lot more grounded then all of that.

You and I go way back on these forums, whether or not we agree or argue. I must say that I always make it a point to read your posts, always have.

This, your latest entry, is no different. Good - make that great - point. Today's zealots will always be, just as yesterday's and tomorrow's. AP is fantastic...but so will be the next. And with each show, they will get better. I'm sure my kids will one day argue that their music is better than mine.

No matter who is singing Journey, it's the music that we all 'pump our fists to'...not the current (over-rated?) singer.

Journey is music you pump your fists too, for sure (speaking figuratively). I feel like I've taken Prozac when I leave I'm in such a good mood, but the singer is important, and I don't believe YngJrny was saying Arnel was perfect or their savior. He was saying for those who only judge Arnel by boots and youtube videos you're not getting the full force and effect of his talent with Journey live on stage. I wholeheartedly agree. And not every singer they've had carries the music as well live as Arnel, but like was said, each has their fans who feel they did.

Can't we just leave this topic to the great job Steve did with this song and showing that he's getting better and better each day, and leave the Perry, Augeri, JSS -vs- Arnel BS to another thread? :)

There's a thought. Stay on topic on a thread the whole way through on MR.

Back to topic. I loved Augeri on the Christmas program. Really beautiful job by him.
