Steve Lukather posted on his Facebook page about new music with Neal Schon & Slash. Anybody else heard this?

Yep, just got the update today. Sounds pretty interesting. Vinnie Colaiuta is playing drums, and he is one incredible drummer.

I'm confused. I thought he was starting up the Neal Schon Band with himself, Miles Schon, Keith St. John, Marco Mendoza and Praire Prince.

I'm not surprised to hear something like this- Neal will always be a busy boy with or without Journey.

I think everyone dreams of being able to retire early. Some people can and some can't. Do I want to live out of a suitcase for six months or do I want to chill on the beach? If I got money coming in either way, the choice is pretty simple.

I dunno' maybe he's going to do both. Touring early this year as the Neal Schon Band and than working with this other group later in the year or 2011 if they do put out new music. Just guessing, but you never know.

I think it's pretty simple for Neal since he loves what he does. Play on. This dude is gonna die with a guitar in his hand.

Is it going to be a mariachi band? Why so many guitarists?

When it's veritable guitar legends (and good songwriters to boot) that are involved, you can never have enough.

We're happy to announce the album is underway. "Six String Theory" features superstar guitarists from the worlds of rock, blues, country, jazz/fusion, acoustic, and classical/flamenco. The album, co-produced by Ritenour and Concord Records Executive VP John Burk, will be released on Concord Records in the summer of 2010. This January we will be recording with BB King, Taj Mahal, George Benson, Pat Martino, Steve Lukather, Neal Schon, Guthrie Govan, and Andy McKee.>>
