I needed a barf bag.

I'm still gonna go see Elton on July 18th. I never have before and I want to get a chance before it's too late. He's what, 63 now?
He's only playing 4 dates in the US this year, as I understand it.

We saw him about 12 years ago or so, and it was one the best concerts I've ever been to musically. Just the man at his piano. . And his vocals were outstanding then.

Those are Elton's boy toys in the backround, by the way. Do you think Neal, Steve and Jon ever envisioned anything as wacky as this when they wrote the song? With all these over the top covers of DSB on youtube, I think the X-Factor guy should have ben allowed to sing his version, the worse thing that could have happened is that the Song would have been #1 in the UK. Too bad the original version is not really getting any love on the U.S charts despite all of this, especially when you got dance mixes of the song and all this other stuff now.

 Ummm, holy crap Batman, that was bad. I know some of you will think that this is awesome, but for me, it was horrible. I'm now seriously thinking Journey needs to hit the road to hopefully stop the imposters from ruining their songs. Off to clean out my ears, eyes and scrub my brain with bleach.

Actually, this might just make the fans appreciate it more when they hear it sung properly next year, live by Journey. :D

Not if AP's let his accent creep back into his singing again.
Anyway, the radio plays the original version everyday. Everybody at my job has been humming it at least once. Blacks, Latinos, Asians. They all know it's a Journey song sang by a guy who sounds a little bit like Sam Cooke, even if their knowledge of the band doesn't usually go any further than Faithfully or Foolish Heart ( which a lot of blacks seem to know due to a few R&B covers of the song).

I'm still not jaded by this song, lol--I LOVED this.. It sounds like everybody had a good time singing it--the camera girl nearly dropped her camera. It's amazing to see this song performed by people of this stature... I'm glad to see it--it really is a great song.

I'll bet they were good then. He screams way too much live now, based on the 2001 live album and the 60th birthday DVD (KILLER setlist though, so worth it).

That's what I thought ...these are huge mega stars! Journey must feel so proud to have their song being picked as a finale.

But what's up with the skimpily clad men frollicking in the background, though? I think it sure ruined the significance
of it all.
