"To Whom It May Concern" and "Mystery Lady" (I can't remember the name of the other song totally) could very well be flat-out rock and roll--I hope so anyway. Whatever they come out with will be most welcome :) . I am so looking forward to whatever it is they're putting together.

It's not the titles, it's the content ..."To Whom It May Concern is a song written by Arnel and his brother.
It's to be one of the 12 tracks on the new album."
The subject matter for the song is "Peace in turbulent times".
<<<<<<<Yes, this sounds rockin' to me!!
Who said Arnel only writes ballads?!?! ...since he's never written (anything we're familiar with), how would anyone know this?!?!
Have you heard any of his previous written material ...rockin' stuff, eh?!?!

You've got to me friggin' kidding me w/this thread!! I'm talkin' in general here ...^^^^not you!!

The plot thickens. Faking one's death on the internet. How hard is that? The fictional charactor Susie is the only thing that may have died.

The only thick thing on here is you.

Hmmmm, I seem to remember you were being accused of being a fake person on here and actually being Susie.

I vaguely remember being accused (as most everyone was accused of that one time or another on this forum) of being that bitch. Because that's the one name that being mentioned can whip this forum into a complete frenzy.... :?

I've never been!! I wasn't even around when this, so~called, Susie person was (or was I?! ) ...therefore; I don't
think I would have enough knowledge of her/him to accuse another?!?! :?

Saint John wrote:The Journey songs belong to whatever 5 man incarnation made them, but anyone can sing any songs if they pay the proper licensing fees. They're not sung because, while in Journey, he gets paid to sing them as a member of the band, not solo.

I always figured the restriction was more of a sub-standard playing thing, than an AP thing. If I were JC, NS, RV, or DC, I wouldn't want anyone playing Journey with Journey's singer, other than me. I'm sure Neal cringes when he sees AP sing Journey with some other guitar player.

Btw, I don't think there are any fees involved with live performances. I always thought anyone can sing anyone, if they want. It's the copyrights associated with recording and publishing where money is involved.

Maybe this has already been posted. I don't know. Caveman diaries:

"News - the new Journey album recording is almost finished - we have a few lead vocals to do, Neal wants to do a few segueways and we'll get to those and the mix in November, and I think that should wrap it up for an early 2011 release."

Cain's segues = Open Arms piano intro

So the answer is in the question...

Exactly! So far there has been no mention of any lovely piano intros by Cain, so we could really have a rocker here. :D

Poor me. I love piano melody on a lot of their songs.

Another Arnel composition included in the track listing is She's A Mystery.

For our friends south of the border, South America is to be part of the next tour too along with Europe and Asia.

And just for those concerned, there was confirmation that Pineda is still restricted from performing Journey tunes on his solo gigs.

That's a given.

Why is it a given?? If he is a full fledged member of Journey why can't he sing whatever he wants to wherever the wants to???

The dirty dozen are the only songs people would want to hear him sing and we all know that Arnel had nothing to do with writing/composing any of those songs.
