Evidenced by the past, Journey is very loyal to their lead singers and I would think the job is Arnel's until he wants to give it up. But, if they did decide to make a change for whatever reason, Lambert would probably be a huge hit with them.

OMG! Dan, are you joking? Loyal? Bullshit. And before you go on about how they waited for Perry, I once again call bullshit. Not because they waited for him, which I agree that they did. But it wasn't out of loyalty, IMO. It was about knowing where your bread is buttered. Should they have waited so long? Many say no, and they may be right. Look at how SA was thrown under the bus, and how JSS was treated (regardless of whether you consider him a fill-in or not :x they should've handled his dismissal better, especially given his history with Neal).

I believe if there was a bigger and better deal on the horizon, Arnel would be back on a plane to Manila in no time flat. Of course, then folks here would either revolt because their guy was gone, or say 'it's just business' and go with the flow. In both those scenarios, the only loyalty shown would be the fans'.

 Do you sometimes feel like this?! Image

Mind you it's probably one of THE funniest posts he has made in awhile. Journey, loyal to it's lead singers???!! Bahahahahahahahaha!

Hmmmm...we need a term for the ones who actually believe this....how about delusional???

We need a term for the poster who's only contribution to MR is when she/he chimes in to either 1. put down current Journey or 2. remind everyone how Steve Perry is the king of all things music/life/ect......

Um I think that is a Loon....I could be wrong.

Nice to see you type.... 8)

So are a lot of them that have been in the game for 25-30 years, even some of your faves like Rik Emmett, Jimi Jamison, Lou Gramm, Vince Neil, Neal Schon......some very talented 80s/90s guys are playing bars and casinos on their own when not under the "band names" they were/are in, like Triumph, Survivor, Motley, Mr. Big, Journey. So I'm not exactly getting your point here? :?

There's a few differences here. Soto has never fronted a tour in the U.S. to packed sheds (unless you count filling in). All of the other guys have. Also, the other artists have an identity, Soto doesn't. Is he a rock singer, metal singer, funk singer, Christmas carols narrator or pop singer? He has never stuck with a genre of music long enough to acclimate himself with, and establish, a fanbase. The bottom line is this ... while you and a few others here may be fawners for sweaty hair and a few Chippendale's moves, the faulty thinking that this guy's "stage presence" has ever earned him any significant amount of fans is totally false and his U.S. "tour" was proof of that.

And that was exactly my point. Even after 25 years and all their fame in the industry, most of them are playing bars, casinos, etc. now too (on their own). And slamming Soto and his fans doesn't change that fact. I'm a fan, you're not.......lets just leave it at that shall we. This dance is getting old.
