"Eastern ancient Hindu spiritual theme."

Huh.

Between that quote and Neals, sounds like they're trying to do "Kashmir."

Hey, what do you all have against hindu people, huh?!

Just kidding, but in all seriousness... I wouldn't hang up *just* yet. Who knows? It might not be as bad as you all think, though it certainly is different.

Wow, you need to add to the title "for new album," because I skipped this several times.

Interesting to up and move when you still have school-age kids. Usually, they're so ingrained with their friends at school and neighborhood friends, it's a real adjustment. Well, except Madison, who wants a career in country. And for Jon's wife to leave her friends and the life she created for so many years, I give them credit for such an undertaking and having a new adventure. I agree with him, it will be good for the children probably lifestylewise.

The description of their new album, I don't know what to say. I'm trying to put that together with a rock sound with guitar. Maybe he just means the mood of the album, but not heavily influenced with that.

Well, atleast it isn't going to be the same thing we've all heard before.

Odd choice to go with though, but creativity knows no bounds. I'm reserving judgement until I hear some clips.

I don't care if the album even sells ten copies. If it has 10 solid rockers on it, I'll be happy. It's not like it will effect their set-lists anyway. 90% of the fans attending their concerts could care less if they put out an album. As long as the greatest hits are the majority of the songs played at the shows, they'll still buy tickets.

10 Eastern ancient Hindu spiritual solid rockers?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck....

If it had come from anyone but Cain, I'd be VERY intrigued.
100 pesos (Philippine ones, Deano ) says only Cain has this ancient Hindu angle
in mind, and only because he can use it to fill the album with mellow-crystals pap. If it's
flavoring for "solid rockers", though, I can see Neal and Deen going totally apeshit for it.
Neal could be hewing close to Kim Thayil's trippy/atonal work.

It's at the very end, chief.
It is, admittedly, a long boring slog to get there, LOL....

I'm thinking it's Neal who's going for the Hindu thing, so I'm not worried. Creativity? :D

I don't think Neal has to worry about anyone stealing his idea.

Wasn't Neal all amped about chatting up Page, who was checking out a Journey gig
on their last tour over on other side of the Atlantic?

He must have subconsciously rifled through some of Jimmy's damaged braincells, and thus, we have the concept for this new album.

If Neal can get something out the door even half as good as Zeppelin's worse effort, we'll be cooking. Of course, his one major handicap in accomplishing this will probably be the whale operator.

What parent would not want for their children to be successful? Where you live to make a living may not be the place you intend to retire. However, Nashville is not the “wholesome” persona of Southern living either. The reference to Eastern Hindu theme is not the first departure from Journey. The Beatles creativity turned a new chapter after dabbling into Hinduism. Sure, some of it was due to pop-culture status, but they did incorporate musical themes from both cultures. Journey is not alone. Red 13 reflects “Arabesque” tone in “State of Grace” (songs ending). However, I do not believe the new record will be titled “Namaste”

I just listened to State of Grace off of Red 13, which made me think of the kind of rock spiritual theme they're talking about. I think someone may have even mentioned this song a while back. Something like this I"m loving the idea of. Very experimental. I'm on board now. I can't wait for this album.

Holy crap, Steve's back ... and he's using Gunbot's MR account!
You sick bastard, you've learned how to spell properly.
I've missed your Faulknerian "Fuck Friga" ramblings.

This Hindu talk reminds me of the peace & free love days when the Beatles went off to meditate and work with Ravi Shankar ….George Harrison taking up the Sitar.

Will Neal play Sitar in this concept album? Hmmmm...

Soul Sirkus has some Eastern vibe-ness to it... possible direction?

There's a song called "Another World" that has some of that Eastern vibe..

If their exploring this and Neals so amped about it.. don't forget he's already said they don't need anymore "hits"... I'm betting he's taking it progressive and a bit back to their pre-Perry era roots... he's gonna be a bit self indulgent on this one...
