Yeah, the Filipino community supported him but when you see the ticket prices, it is mind boggling. Especially when you think of Journey and two opening acts playing a 5,000 seat Greek Theatre for the same ticket prices or or even less.
Granted he can only get away with this for a few shows that are in ethnically viable areas or ones that are easily accessible for outside travelers but still quite an achievement for him.

I heard that the Canada shows are either near capacity or sold out.

I'm sure he'll do well as he's hitting places where the Local Filipino community can really support him though I do see where he switched from one larger venue to one that was only half the size so maybe not all of the shows were initially sellouts.
Still good for him. I think personally that Journey has at most, two major tours left in them so Arnel definitely should be working his buns off while he's still visible.

After his stint with Journey ends I'm sure he should be able to go to a place like Las Vegas or Atlantic City and land a pretty good regular gig as an entertainer, if he wants to continue to work in the USA. His Visa should be a given if he lands a contract.

Didn't they just change the venue in Toronto from 3,000+ to 1,500?

Journey wants him to lie low after the last charity concert is over. I guess it's " absence makes the heart grow fonder" rationale. They want the fans to look forward to the next Journey concert tours.

I would think they would want him to lie low...so he can be the lead singer of Journey.
I still think all of this touring as a cover band does nothing for the image of Journey.....so I totally get the idea of
laying low until the tour. [/code]

Hey, Portie...maybe you should lay low for awhile. :lol:j/k
Actually, Arnel does the side gigs to help fund his charity. I think that's an honorable purpose. I don't look so much at what he does, but rather, why he does it.
