That whole Chicago Soundstage concert was amazing. I remember watching it on PBS when it first aired and wishing I was sitting in that audience. Journey was never the same vocally after Mr. Rolie left. He and Steve shared some killer harmonies....and Gregg had such a nice butt.

Me too!! This is probably the one thing I disagree w/Deb on ...although, I adore the ABE era smokey, sexy, soulful vox, my
favorite era of the band is right ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We actually don't disagree on this really, I do love the later SP vocal tone on Frontiers/ROR the best but I also love the Perry/Rollie duets. The contrast of their vocals is stunning. Especially on songs like Someday Soon and Just the Same Way, two faves.

Incredible!
I think I like the high clear voice on Perry. The early stuff just seemed to fly out of his face effortlessly. And the runs on those high notes were and are an inspiration for every male singer that every claimed to be a tenor.
and good, I like it ...perhaps I'll change it!!AlteredDNA wrote:Michigan Girl wrote:It's the acronym forDeb wrote:Michigan Girl wrote:Deb wrote:Michigan Girl wrote:Lora wrote:RobbieG wrote:Another one of my favorites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0RFpXrPv2g
