I really need to get off my ass and get this album. Everybody says good things about it, but I've yet to listen to any post-Perry stuff....

Oh yeah, and the person who put Dream After Dream as their least favorite Journey album... WHAT. Come on. That album is probably their BEST behind Frontiers (and by frontiers, I mean frontiers minus backtalk and plus only the young and ask the lonely). It's very different, but it's perfect and beautiful.

Evidently Kalodner thought they needed an army of outside writers on Arrival to get the job done, when he sent Friga to Nashville. I wonder what it would have sounded like without them?

Probably like Revelation. a decent album at the onset, but easily forgotten about after a few spins. Just nothing earth shattering on it that required consistent play for me. I'll put it above Generations and on Par with the EP album Red13. Below Arrival, TBF (just because of the killer production) then ROR.
Where Raised On Radio is considered a Perry solo album, Revelation fits the same bill as Cain solo album, just not a lot of creativity being felt there. Arrival, even with all the ballads, was different then anything they had done before, for better or worse. I never got the feeling that Augeri was trying to be Perry on that album and he just let everything flow naturally which made it a nice record overall.

I agree with this statement...Arrival is grossly underrated...

We Will Meet Again is one of if not the best song on Arrival. They dusted it off one time in Atlantic City when I was there too.

I was never a massive fan of Escape. I love Infinity and Departure so much more from the classic days. I love love many songs on Escape, just not the album as a whole as much as others, but maybe that's because I've heard the songs for so long and Arrival was newer so just enjoyed newer songs.
