2011 Tour Partner?

I think Arnel got UNINTENTIONALY screwed in a way with Revelation. From what he has said, he was paid upfront for everything, basically not based on whether the album OR the tour was a success or not. Being an equal partner now is cool but the chances of this album pulling in as much money as Rev are pretty small. He will get cash from the touring but even there, I'm thinking "Why tour with TWO other bands?" Too many people getting paid from the same pot when you do that.

I don' know. I remember him talking in beginning of 2009 about he would be getting Revelation money soon in an interview in the Philippines. I took it to mean he was being paid something on the profits of that album.

I remember that but then he said in a more recent interview that he's been geting paid up front for everything up to this point. This was when he was talking about how artists in the Philippines don't get the same type of royalty payment there like they do in the states (Song writing, performance royalties, etc.). I think this interview was the one when he talked about helping pen two songs for the new album.

That's the problem with Journey. Their greatest selling effort is actually a compilation put together by Columbia.
For Bon Jovi, there is Slippery When Wet, for GNR, Appetite for Destruction, for Def Leppard its Pyromania or Hysteria. Even the Moody Blues have their Days Of Future Passed.
When you look at the Journey canon, there really is no magnum opus.

you cant really compare record sales from 86-89 with any other period, hit albums sales doubled in a short period of time, and pretty much any band from that time period had thier biggest seller come from it
