Fantastic interview, Andrew ...kept me on the edge of my seat!!
AP is just the nice guy we'd always suspected, great voice, great
singer ...you either like his vocal ability/style or you don't ...but I don't
think his character was ever in question!!

Now the other babies on the bus ...LMAO ...more proof of where
the problems originated all these years!! m-m-m ...good luck w/the
waaa waaa's Arnel!!

good read drew... yea, the part where KS... I dont want to talk Journey...next question out of Drew, what about Journey...

Also the part of KS wanting to work with the Stones... that would be awesome gig if he could get there!!
After Keef's book, I am really into the Stones stuff now... more than I have been in a really long time...

Shirley comes off as a disgruntled individual in this piece.

I like that Schon/Cain are fiery and battling over material, should ensure their usual strong material.

Yeah, and when the 7 Dwarfs all gang rape the shit out Snow White, and bukkake her grill, then they will have indeed pulled off a helluva sequel to the first movie.  What the hell is with you? Cain, fiery? Yeah, and Obama is a Mexican.

What struck me is how little I cared about anything he had to say. In fact, I didn't even read the whole thing. I mean, he's a producer. And that should mean something to me how? Sorry - just the feeling I got. Not a take on whether or not it was a good interview. Just saying who cares?

I tend to find interviews from people who work behind the scenes more insightful on a normal basis than the musicians themselves who tend to do the "prop yourself up" style of interview that you learn nothing from more often than not. To draw a similarity, it would be like reading an interview with the coach of a sports team as opposed to one of the team's star.

Well, it’s always good to get to read (listen to) interviews…no? One thing I find interesting is KS’s (seemingly) changed perspective regarding his relationship(involvement) with the band …from TBF-Arrival-Rev-NewAlbum.

There are several (2001?) interviews archived at JourneyDigest.com in which staff spoke with KS, NS&JC promoting the Arrival album. No one was particularly fond of the TBF experience or complimentary of SP. I recall some “wink-wink” exchanges between the interviewer and interviewee(s), whenever SP is mentioned. It was almost like…”the control freak is gone…God bless our new frontman, a true talent and team player!”

Fast forward to present day…the SA era is all but forgotten or glossed over. Arrival was difficult to make, and TBF was a charm!?! …holy cow!

I guess the passage of time changes everything. :D As a perryfan, it’s nice to see SP once again being revered and spoken of highly. Well, with the exception of a few disgruntled posters here whose mission it is to dogged the guy forever and ever.

I know what you mean about the changing perspective. I remember reading an old interview in which KS discussed TBF and it didn't come across as so positive. He used the term "different" to describe Steve Perry saying he didn't think "paranoid" was quite the right word. And that if he and Steven Tyler knew how similar they were, they would hate it. Now SP was a dream to work with? The new album must have been quite an experience for him to look back at TBF and SP with much more fondness!

That's the one with KS alone. There's another one with NS/JC (& KS--the 3 of them together, I believe) by the same JD.com staff. Can't find that one now. Maybe Monker can dig that out. SA was propped up while SP was thrown under the bus. But, like I said, that was 2001...things have changed :? .

I think they do that every time they get a new lead singer - the new one is the real deal, blah, blah, etc. and they throw the last one under the bus and then pretend he never existed in the first place! They can't pretend Steve Perry was never there, but you would think it went from SP to Arnel with no one in between. I think KS was being more of a team player then, but I think he's done with Journey and this is probably their last album anyway, so he's not censoring himself. Perhaps he realizes now how much better it was to have SP balancing out Neal and Jon so that he didn't have to take that on by himself.

Is there a release date for this album yet?
