We all can argue till the end of days about "who made who ?", but regardless what the answer to that question is ...there is something bigger than the individual bandmembers.....and that`s "THE MUSIC".

No need, really, to compare the two bands, per se.
Thing is, who made who?

Did Slash make VR?
Did Schon make BE? I think Schon did make Hard Line.
Interesting debate...

And who has Perry made?

Who has Journey made since Perry and who has needed to basically steal Perry's identity?

Just like everyone else around here, A2 has opinions... and why shouldn't he/she express them? The venom and telling him/her to f**k off is uncalled for.

Because "it" is trolling for arguments.

He is doing more than just expressing opinions. He's being a total troll.

The word troll is used a lot on messageboards...never quite understood what it means...but is used (usually) to denote someone that is not popular with other posters. You don't agree with someone's opinion (position)...heck, debate it/refute it...why resort to giving someone a label or resort to personal attacks???? :?

A2 has been posting quite awhile...I would hardly call him/her a hit-and-run(ner). I think that's what most of us consider as "trolling". S07, enlighten me... How is A2's posting style much different than yours? :)

"trolling' is a fishing term. You get in a boat, stick a minnow on a hook and drop it in the water, and drive about the lake/river with the bait dragging behind it...hoping some other fish bites it.

Trolling on msg forums is posting in a controversial/confrontational tone as 'bait' for readers to incite a reply. It has less to do with conversation, and everything to do with a person starving for attention, and posting 'crap' to get an argument going. Author2 does not want conversation...it wants arguments and attention - the very def9inition of a troll on msg forums.

It really has nothing to do with trit-trotting billy goats and bridges.

Monker, I've always respected you as a poster....we all know you are a pioneer of sorts when it comes to fan chat sites. I don't agree that A2 is only here to elicit arguments. The way I see it is...A2 reacting to posts/opinions that he/she doesn't agree with...albeit with an edge. Yet, I have not seen any profanity-laced diatribes coming from his/her posts (that I've noticed). Which is probably why Andrew has not chimed it once against A2. Now, that cannot be said for other posters of these MR forums--past or present.

The fact that you continue to quote Rolling Stone tells everyone here not to put much credibility in your comments. Why don't you go way back to the 80s and find a few of the many unfavorable things that trash mag had to say about your boy Steve Perry. Then post them here. Shouldn't be much trouble as Rolling Stone has continually dogged Perry and Journey for decades.

"The fact that you continue to" dismiss musical integrity tells "everyone" who appreciates such that there is not "much credibility in your comments."

"All of these problems have been resolved on Departure. The most conspicuous absence is that of Roy Thomas Baker, whose meddling isn't missed. Engineer Geoff Workman has been promoted to producer, which places the group's musical direction in its own hands. Not surprisingly, a real leader has emerged for the first time in Journey's history: Steve Perry, a fine singer with a penchant for snappy melodic hooks, is currently calling the shots, writing or cowriting all but one of the songs and keying the sound around his vocal arrangements. "Any Way You Want It," "Where Were You," "I'm Cryin' " and "People and Places" demonstrate the band's new approach....In the past, the group's good moments came when Neal Schon and Dunbar took off on extended jams, but now Journey works best as a band. And they've never rocked harder. " RollingStone By John Swenson / June 12, 1980

"After singing in a college choir, he joined Journey at the age of 28, quickly revealing a penchant for quavering, reverb-soaked melodrama that appealed to millions of fans — but few rock critics. Yet his technical skills (those high notes!), pure tone and passionate sincerity now seem undeniable. " RollingStone Top 100 singers / 2008.

S/times sincerity/convictions bring about a degree of respect.... Schon, the child prodigy, did not make his respective list..

in a parallel universe, Perry would have stayed on the turkey farm and Herbie would have left him alone.

Then, maybe, the Perryheads would have stayed out of Journey fandom. At least some of these 15yr old, or even 25yr old insane arguments would have never happened, and wouldn't continue nonstop. I would give up "Walks Like a Lady", LTS, and definitely ROR, for that.

You know there are always two sides to every story.
Some people put the emphasis on just one side of that story, while others will look at both sides.
Those who are more pragmatic "came to terms" and still can enjoy a new Journey CD and go to a Journey concert while others who have developed a detest against the current Journey line up are repeating their angry and spiteful argumentations over and over again just like a broken record.
You people are no fun...
Still have a nice day..though.
