Chain of Love

One precious moment in the state of grace
Send the magic to an endless night
Feel the goal, feel the peace of mind
True perfection in one true the light

That place in my mind can lead to nowhere
Promises of happiness can leave me wanting more
When my desire becomes a nightmare

There’s no beginning. There’s no end.

An endless circle beyond space and time
It’s the chain of love that binds me
Chain of love that binds me
Chain chain chain chain of love.

Forces in my head will try to rule me
I found a place where I can’t be there anymore

Lost in emotion that I’ve never touched before

If I could get beyond what’s in my mind
Free my spirit, leave the world behind

As I finished reading this, I heard the Price Is Right's fail tuba. :?

Just from listening to the song, these lyrics appear to be pretty off. I'd say they're about 60-70% right.

I grabbed those from Rip's site. Between Filipinos deciphering them, Arnel's accent and the shitty quality of the video, 60-70% may be generous.

I was gonna say... those lyrics looked like they wrote them with those little fridge magnet words while completely blazed out of their skulls on peyote.

That makes Homemade Love look normal....

They should have named it "Ring of Love". It would have been like Tolkein wrote it. Maybe it could have been in "The Hobbit".

Makes more sense ...no beginning, no end ...just like in the wedding vows!!

One Chain to rule them all,
One Chain to find them,
One Chain to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.

Journey needs to use outside writers like Desmond Child, Mutt Lange, Jim Vallance/Bryan Adams, Jack Ponti, or Dan huff....shake things up.

Journey copying their own music isn't anything new. The ripped the break down from Separate Ways and used it in Message Of Love and Every Generation.

This is the best I can with City of Hope...can someone help out?

There’s a City of Hope
?That will ease all my fears?
Where miracles happen
Where truth can be heard
That’s where I’m From

from what I've heard....it's a double chorus. Still hard to decipher some of this.

There’s a City of Hope
?? (I don't think your guess is quite right)
Where miracles happen
Where truth can be heard
don't you wanna go
to the city of hope

family or faith (??--this makes logical sense, but not 100% certain)
connecting us all
a network of hope
??

I think I'm starting to see the concept here. Wrap the songs around the most obscure, mundane lyrics you can and call it a theme.

Ha, Dokk. I actually felt that from across the aisle!!

Idk, Matt, it is kinda cool in a way. I'm going to wait to decide completely.

This is just a reply to the topic in general. I don't think lyrics have to always be cerebral or complex. Sometimes it's really just about how they feel when you're singing them. Some of my favorite songs have brain-dead lyrics, but they are fun as heck to sing. Think about FireHouse's "All She Wrote". I could write those kinds of lyrics in 5 minutes, but the work, lol.

For the Eclipse songs, we've figured out a good chunk of them on AP's site just by straining our brains watching and listening to several different video takes from Vegas, and they make a whole lot more sense in context. Definitely not brain-dead by a long shot. But absolutely fun to sing!
