WTF? Who wishes that on anyone...yeah, his voice will blow out, just like last time right? We've all heard this before. Wishful thinking.

This song is a monster! I hear plenty of hooks and keys - soaring guitar and vocals. Sounds like Journey to me...

I agree. Neal should keep these songs in the sets and not cave entirely to the nostalgia crowd who just want to hear the 80's hits.

Europe gets it and I'm sure these songs will go over well when they tour there.

I agree. And it seems like this song, especially, will be a crowd-pleaser, to me, anyway.

And what about the 80s non-hits? So the new, less known, less catchy, and yes - less quality songs win out over the 80s deep cuts.....lovely. Journey is a business that is being run into the ground. The legacy, well what's left of it, is being dragged through the mud....Resonate over Troubled Child? City of Hope over Edge of the Blade? Edge of the Moment over Frontiers? I'll pass....bad business model. A Schon-heavy Journey is set up for failure...I've always said even if SP isn't in the band officially, he could still collaborate in the songwriting area....cause evidently Neal and Co. have run out of ideas....

This doesn't make sense. Either way, they would be playing songs that nobody really knows. The only part of this that could possibly be looked at objectively is the quality, and without hearing the studio versions, you have nothing to judge.

Journey is a business that is being run into the ground. The legacy, well what's left of it, is being dragged through the mud

That already happened with RoR and Augeri lipping. What they are doing now is moving forward.

Resonate over Troubled Child? City of Hope over Edge of the Blade? Edge of the Moment over Frontiers? I'll pass....bad business model.

Your loss. Bad business model for who? The dirty dozen will still be there to sell tickets and Journey gets to play new, fresh music.

A Schon-heavy Journey is set up for failure...I've always said even if SP isn't in the band officially, he could still collaborate in the songwriting area....cause evidently Neal and Co. have run out of ideas....

Just because you've been singing your heart out to the new songs on youtube and it makes your throat burn like you just chugged a Chevron station and chased it with a match does not in any way, shape or form mean Arnel's voice will be toast at any time this year!

Sorry, you're wrong. As I have said, the only people picking up this coaster are: Guitar wienies(neal Fans), filipinas, and stalker-type fans....oh it will sell, just not anywhere near anything over a blip on the radar.....another thing. Since when is the dissenting viewpoint labeled as negative? And when has it become a 'tirade'?

I think fans talk themselves into settling for subpar crap, if it means a favorite group is still around....I believe there is a name for that phenomenon - Republicanism...LMAO

I think you are correct, but I think there are also those who actually LIKE what they are hearing. I believe it will be the most divisive Journey album since Raised on Radio because of the style change, but different doesn't necessarily translate to bad. Sometimes, it's just different.

Correct. In my case, I didn't care about Journey much, but after hearing these clips, I'm more interested than ever. I haven't been hanging around the forums blindly defending anything J-boyz.

S2M - You have a point, but there is also the flip side. People who had their minds made up long before any audio clips were posted. Same story on both sides of the fence, both sides clinging on to the same hope (or lack thereof)

For some people, this new direction is a huge breath of fresh air, and some people embrace Arnel and some don't. That's how it is and that's why music is subjective. You can't show me an objective reason to like the music you like. Music is an experience that touches everybody in their own personal way. While one lyric or note in "Faithfully" might hit the spot and become an emotional experience for one, it could be meaningless drudge to another.

Exactly, S2M has it embedded in his (or her) head that they're going to hate this new CD, no matter what, so that's the mindset. Guitar wienie.....WTF?? :? Something ain't right there...I guess S2M can't appreciate a good guitarist?

Ok, here it is. Go easy on it, I'm an amateur! Not a great camera, and I was holding it off to the side so I could watch the show and not be hidden or miss anything behind the lens. I know it makes the clip jumpy, but I just recorded it for myself to get to listen to the song when I got home.
