Same with the full version of To Be Alive Again with the extended intstrumental jam towards the end that was shortened for the US version. Add Remember Me, and cut the whole thing down to about 10-11 songs, and you have a very strong album.

Agreed. Even worse, is when they omitted "Never Too Late" from the initial version of Generations. That album was sorely lacking solid material and could've used an arena anthem like that. I also think the US version of Revelation should've kept on "Place in Your Heart", as Shirley's re-arrangement is brilliant and shows what a good producer can do.

NTL's omission was just unbelievably dumb for the exact reasons you stated. I just do not get who in his right mind made that decision, especially considering we had 20 lead singers on the album anyway. That's the only possible reason I see for exclusion in the first place - wanting to feature your lead singer. Obviously, the track lineup on the album as is mooted that controversy.

Was at the Hinckley show where i think they dubuted both songs.
Neil announced that they would be on the new album due out in the fall.

World gone Wild rocked, instantly thought it would fit well on the B side of frontiers.
Have a good time was good, but sounds more like a Tall Stories song. wonder if augeri had a hand in the writing.

As Deano used to say, Neal was MIA. He simply didn't care. His energy was directed towards Soul Sirkus, which had strong songs and a near flawless tracklist imo. Luckily, Eclipse is his baby and I bet every song is a winner.

Thanks for confirming that "Good Time" was slated to be on the record. And yea, "Good Time" does sound a little like SA's pre-Journey work.

I have a recording from one of the 99 shows where Augeri states that this song will be on our new album. The band then go into 'Have a good time'. Will find it and post it.

Thanks for the confirmation. Pity they didn't record it for Generations. Again, that cd could've used more A-grade material.

Agreed it is a strong tune, hoping it gets recorded and released at some point.

I dunno. I always found that one rather repetitive and annoying. Not one of the finer moments on Arrival for me...

I love I Got a Reason. Cool guitar riff too.

Agreed. Really like the guitar solo on this song.

Cool tune – not exactly Journeyish. Still, would've gladly had this on Arrival in place of a weepy ballad or two. This is back in 1999 and while Augeri is sounding good, his limitations are already present. Most obviously, the lack of falsetto or any sort of subtlelty. He just attacks the song full-bore from his chest, little wonder he blew out his pipes.

I remember this song and the disappointment that it was not on Arrival. Actually fans did make pressure that this song and World Gone Wild should be on Arrival. And the fans won! Well, at least, for World Gone Wild. I don't know what they decide to go with Nothin' Come Close instead. I think that Have a Good Time is a better song.

Yes, that was also Andrew's doing, after he panned the Japan Arrival release for lacking rockers. Neal soon got in touch.
