Wow! His last and final performance which he ceremoniously gave after finding out his fate, was without a doubt the worst performance by anyone, anywhere, ever! I realize he was fighting back tears and probably had a lump in his throat the size of a golf ball but God damn.... that was horrendous! He sang "Maybe I'm Amazed" btw.
I'll never understand why they make the contestants sing one last time immediately after receiving the worst news they could possibly get in relation to the show.

It hasn't aired here yet. So James got the boot tonight huh? In my opinion that pretty much guarantees Scotty to win.

Hope not. I hope Lauren wins. She's got a great voice when she lets herself just bust loose..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko9fBez2Row

Either way, I've been more hooked on "The Voice" lately anyway. Some killer singers on there........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQV0T6ECxdo Like Vicci Martinez, such cool soulness to her voice and love her passion.

WOO HOO!!! Thank the LORD that America finally tuned in to what I've been hearing since day 1! I can't STAND his shrill, high-pitched, senseless screaming. I'm so excited to see him go, that words can't convey it enough. Lol! I'd love to see Hailey or Lauren win it, as they have the best voices of the season. I'm so sick of hearing the judges lick James's asshole after one mediocre performance after another, yet criticize every damn outstanding performance that Hailey's ever done... it sickens me. If they don't get real judges next year, I'm officially done with the show.

Now if we could just get Scotty off next... :D

I haven't watched the show in several years, but after looking up a few of James' performances, I noticed something in the comments: The dude has Asperger's Syndrome AND Tourettes. And I also saw something about him having high-functioning autism, but I'm not sure if it's true or not.

His voice is mediocre, but then again most folks are downright terrible on that show save for a select few. The fact he actually got so far on the show is pretty inspirational in my opinion, considering his mental conditions.

I watched one episode of this show and she was awesome. It was the episode where she got Tyler to sing a verse to an Aerosmith song. I hope she wins, too, Deb. She has "it." 8)

Oh, he did and it was just as awful ... if not more.

I bust on Perry about as much as anyone here....but this is just absolutely sad, makes you feel bad for him. How could he put himself in a position to get anywhere close to a mic?

In all honesty, I was just goofing around. I'm certainly not going to rip on the guy for an an unscheduled, unpaid performance. But I will say this ... I thought about something for a long time. He said he was screaming and yelling for the White Sox and used that as one of the reasons that he sounded so awful, but I'm not buying it. That's just not him or his personality. I bet he sat there and watched the games rather quietly. The guy had been a fan of the team for, what ... a few fucking weeks?

And, sadly, I bet that's about what he would sound like, screaming all weekend or not. I also noticed that throughout that series and whenever he was interviewed, and even today, he can't pull that ball cap down far enough. It's almost like he's trying to hide. I think the dude has some major issues going on. But, in the end, I still give him major props for standing up there and singing. Or trying to.

He was in California and that was a scripted "performance." More specifically, San Francisco, where everyone knows him and where he has been a regular at games for years. Put him in the stands in Chicago or Houston, and I doubt he'd bring attention to himself by screaming. And the fact that it never surfaced "OMG, Steve Perry was next to me screaming the entire game" I'd say I'm probably right.

I meant nothing more than he knew in advance. :) Or do you think that was an "on the spot" occurrence?

If Journey performed "City of Hope" and let Randy Jackson sit in on bass, they would have it on AI.

How about renaming it 'City Of Dope' and letting Tyler sit in on it with a cowbell? If people are really ready to stop believin', they surely aren't interested in anything with Hope in the title.

Or Faith for that matter.
