Paisley's take on country really reminds me of the older artists in the 70s. Also, having Carrie Underwood, Alabama, and Don Henley on board doesn't hurt either.
I will still be getting an import version of Eclipse but couldn't bring myself to buy the Wal-Mart disc with that crap package. The digital purchase will, if anything fulfill my moral obligation as there are seven songs on the album that I do enjoy (and it's two dollars cheaper than Wal-Mart's offering).
Gaga is just one of those impulse buys that for 99¢, just couldn't be ignored. At least I'll have an opportunity to hear what all the fuss is about.

There's very few country artists' voices that move me enough to buy their music. When I've seen him on award shows his voice seems average. Though, he always gets entertainer of the year award, so he's huge in country music. It will be interesting to see what you think.

I'll check it out tonight. Not exactly work jams, at least not in my office anyway.

Martina McBride has had a few songs that have moved me.

Musack is more about the song and the lyric than the singer, so he doesn't have to be the best vocalist to be a success.

#1 in 22 countries on iTunes. She has totally embraced the digital age. I thought the early release of four singles might take away from complete album sales but that doesn't appear to be the case.
She can sing, she can write and she can entertain. What else do you need?

Agreed, she at least has the talent to back it up under all that shock and aw.

What else do I need? INSTRUMENTS. Not computer beats. No guitar, do not apply.

I full on agree with you. I like a few of her songs, but not much my cup of tea either. I ABSOLUTELY require guitar, drums and of course a heavy bass......to be on my constant rotation playlist. I just meant that out of alot of the popsters and or rappers out there now, she at least has the vocals and songwriting capabilities to back it up. At least 2 things going for that many don't.

Coming from someone who is obsessed with guitar, why would you limit your music like that? There is a whole 'nother world of music out there that doesn't have guitar, drums or bass in it.

Like?

Not a big fan of computer generated / techno sounding music. And not a big fan of classical. So unless it's a great acepella vocal, then most of what I listen to has pretty much at least one of the above real instruments in it. For me, ain't nothing better than some great R&B bluesy based ROCK.

You know what, this album is awesome. When I'm fixing something in the yard, this is great music to be blaring. My wife was actually dancing to some of the tunes while doing house chores (and she normally hates country music). All the guest artists on here sound excellent (Sheryl Crow, Carl Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Don Henley, and Alabama). Even Clint Eastwood gets his own tune here! I can see why this sold so well, this guy plays to a wide audience with a little something for every one. A surprisingly good purchase.

Next up, Adele!

Sorry but country sucks. I can't stand the "I'm a drinking, smoking and fighting redneck and proud of it" crap or the self-righteous "I'm better than you because a down home small town country boy/girl." When I hear country music I have the overwhelming urge to puncture my own eardrums.

I finally bought Sirius because the only radio stations you can pick up around here are either country or Pop/Top 40. Sirius rocks, I haven't listened to AM/FM radio in almost 2 years.
