Four last albums

Which of these four is the strongest?

Journey- Eclipse
Styx- Cyclorama
Foreigner- Can't Slow Down
REO Speedwagon- Find Your Own Way Home

At this point I would obviously give this title to Eclipse since it's shiny and new. But its staying power will be determined by time. I have them listed in order of my preference at this point.

This isn't really a fair competition, Eclipse without question.

Howabout Journey's last four albums?

1. Eclipse
2. Arrival
3. Trial By Fire
4. Revelation

Actually, of course that's not Journey's last 4 albums, as we all know there were a couple POS in there too.

This is where the problem lyes when comparing other bands' efforts against one another. When you pop in a CD, you expect to listen to the music that moves you at that moment, which I can't separate. All these albums are worthy of being broke down but one minute Eclipse could be on top and the next W.E.T could be on top. It's eb and flow of the music that's tricky because each and every one of these bands has something different that the other doesn't to fill in the gaps.

I love fresh and new material, that's why I can't get enough of Eclipse right now. It's very hot off the press for me and quite frankly I don't want to listen to any other because of that reason. Talk to me in about 4-5 months and I can probably make an assumption that stands the test of time. However, W.E.T is one of those album's that caught me right on the good side right away. Possibly my runaway favorite but I just love what Journey did with Eclipse because you expect what you hear out of JSS but Journey certainly surprised on most tracks. We'll see.

Tough to compare band to band , but I think Whitesnake's and Mr Bigs efforts this year was a little better than Eclipse (though I think Eclipse is a darn good listen with some real great moments and I like the new sound ) I think Whitesnake is the album of the year hands down. Just a fantastic album

I have Foreigner's Can't Slow Down WAY up there right now.

It's more immediate than Eclipse, though I'm starting to get my head around some of where Eclipse is going now a week in.

Over the weekend, I listened to Trial by Fire and Eclipse together. I think it was Don who said he'd done that. I like a lot of the stuff on TBF, and a couple of songs that I think are among their best ever (especially Easy to Fall). I've listened to that disc hundreds on hundreds of times. But the middle part of the album was just sooooo slooowww when my brain's been hearing Eclipse for the last couple of weeks. I ended up skipping a few TBF songs after the first minute or two.

I'm sure the shine will eventually wear off of Eclipse, but I'm listening to it a lot these days. I don't know how many of the songs are total classics (EOTM, Resonate, for sure), but the album tracked as a whole is really doing it for me.

Listening to it now.... here comes where SAM turns dirty at the end!! Yeah!
