It's a AP fronted vocal record thats a decent record and better than alot of artists projects are today. But the reason why we as Journey/Perry fans have issues or opinions is simply the dam bar was set WAY TOO HIGH. (INFINITY). The bar was set by one Steve Perry. I say possibly the greatest vocalist maybe ever. Not showman, vocalist, live and in studio. If Journey would have hired Bon Jovi, Jimmy Jamison, Ted Nugent, Steve Miller, Greg Kinn, Brian Adams, E.T.C., AP would now be considered a Star is born. Perry, back then, set the bar too high and it has reared it's ugly head for along time. If you don't believe me on this, go talk to Lebron King James.

Funny thing is... I wasn't a NR fan when they were in their prime... but this new stuff is great... just great... it rocks... it doesn't PLOD (like Eclipse does to me) ... the musicianship is STELLAR... the songwriting is spot on...


"Lay It On Me"... its like NR listened to Accept "Balls To The Walls"... wrote a riff... then listened to some early Bon Jovi... and wrote a killer tune...
