Neal's had that chain for almost a decade now, and it still looks just as ridiculous. But as long as he doesn't start performing in a Lakers jersey, I'll live with it!

Cool pictures!

:D  Man, you are constantly on the fat food kick- it's hilarious.

As for Pineda...the tattoos look ridiculous, especially being the lead singer for a soft rock/pop band. I guess it's ok for this cd/tour, where they are trying to toughen up, but man, I am shocked he was allowed to get them. I vividly remember JSS getting scolded by Journey "style, marketing, image" person, for wearing his pants chain...now Schon is rocking the look. I remember Cain also telling JSS, "Now Jeff, you're in Journey now. No dick songs." My point is, 3 years ago, they were Brady Bunch music/image.Now they are simply trying to be somethng they just aren't. Judas Priest? Krokus? They just don't work with this roughed up look, IMHO.

Helluva a photographer Marty. One has to remember, that you can't control the lighting for your pics- you simply work with what you have(arena/stage lighting). I took photography in college- cool craft. What is your take on Bryan Adams as a photographer? He has shot the hottest chicks i the world, many nude too. Look:

Look under photo diary...Lindsay Lohan, Rene Zellwiger, and many naked chicks. You dabble in magazine shoots Marty?

Yeah, I was on Soto's ass for that shit too. Kobe jersey...Nothing speaks character like good ol Kobe Bryant. Why not go out and rack up an Iverson, Plaxico, Vick, T.O., Manny Ramirez, Albert Belle, and Barroid Bonds uniforms. Hell, why not go out and rock the Orenthal Buffalo gear. That ought to fire up the Buffalo crowd. LOL, Soto bumping around singing the encore in an Orenthal jersey. I would laugh my ass off at that.

I stick with what works, man! But seriously though: I don't get the constant shit storm Journey gets around here - for absolutely everything! Tattoos, clothes, guitar work, drums (okay, that one is well deserved. Someone should sack that make-up wearing, ritalin troll) and bass (that one too) etc. The fact is though, that most likely would most people here like Journey to be different in some way - me included. But I'm at peace with Neal shredding way too much, dressing like a bareback loving German trucker and the cheesy lyrics and keys or that Rollie, Perry or Smith won't return. They're not Rush or Pink Floyd, and they never will be - Journey is a typical AoR band with all the bells and whistles that follows. They've used a keytar for fucks sake!

My point is that people should stop whining like a pedophile after being gang raped by 20 Somalians and just enjoy the fucking music!

Those are cool shots from Bryan. I don’t necessarily like all the photos on his site, but some of them are really good and he is trying to be different.

I have done a big catalog shoot (for a wedding dress designer) and numerous band portraits/photoshoots etc, but haven’t done any fashion shoots with famous people yet. It is something I’ve thought about doing in the future, as it’s one of the more lucrative areas of photography and might enable me to give up the day job, but I don’t have the right contacts or experience in that area yet. Also, my forte seems to be more a case of capturing what’s already happening and creating an image by moving myself around to find the angles, rather than posing/directing the subject in front of me. I’m not sure I could make that switch. I'd have fun trying though :D

Despite the reported sound problems (which I didn't experience - the sound was GREAT where I was) the actual show was excellent, and everybody (except Deen of course) made full use of the enormous stage.

I shared the pit for the whole show with the legendary photographer Ross Halfin and, although he misreported our conversation on his blog afterwards, it was an interesting experience.

Great shots Moff :!:

Nope. A lowly 5D Mark I. It's getting a bit old now but still a great camera.

Drummers- Deen's got shields up in front of his cymbals. I would think those are to keep the cymbals out of the vocal mic mix. Are those small shields really enough to do that? Seems inadequate if that's the goal. If it's not, what else would they be for?

Its probably Deen's own preference.
The shield sends his sound back to him - nice and clean and pure.

Its called 'airborne deflection.'

Kind of like when a sax player tunes up in front of a mirror or wall. The sound coming back at them is pure and sweet.

The wall deflects the sound.
So do the perspex shields.
