Definitely 2011.
Before, they were just old but now, they're fucking ancient.

Even with accent/diction problems or whatever, Arnel was a vocal power house when performing live in 2008. Now, he's a powerhouse in the studio but on the road, It doesn't seem quite the same.

Eh?
He still sounds pretty strong to me.

I still maintain that Arnel is the strongest link in the chain right now.

That's by no means a testament to the value of Arnel, but more evidence to just how far Journey has fallen.

I don't know where you got that from. Arnel has been great live so far... it's the sound in the venues that isnt

That's the way I see it. I'm gonna see a show or two here in the states this year.

I think "Sucks" is a strong word. I don't think they totally sucked either year. Some of this year is better, some worse.

It's only a strong word if you're on a website with AP's name on it.

I like the vibe of 2008 Journey a lot more. They seem distant to me now...not sure how to describe it.

I didn't see Journey 2008; I saw Journey 2009, which comparing it to the footage I saw of Journey 2008, was infinitely better.
Seriously, the band was on fire at the last of the three Honolulu concerts. 8) And then seeing the footage of them in Europe and that concert on Arnel's birthday only cemented my view.

That said, I don't think Journey 2011 sucks at all from what I've been seeing on YouTube. I'll be seeing them live in August, so I can't make a final decision at the moment though.
