I would feel a loss for sure, but I would not cry like it was a family member or friend. It has been quite a while now, but the passing of a musician that hit me the hardest was SRV. Still miss his playing.

People die every day. When it comes to stars though, we are lucky to have them immortalized in Digital, so they're not entirely gone.
Nothing to cry about at all if you are not personal friends with any of them. Just tip your cap and move on.

I was really sad when Dio died a year ago May...dude had some pipes, and his early solo stuff was my highschool times.

It's inevitable for us all so I'm reminded of this quote...."live like you are dying" . If you knew you only had a year left to live what would you do? Go out and do it and don't put off telling those you care about how you feel about them. Either you or they could be gone tomorrow so dont put off telling someone you love them until tomorrow. To die with no regrets is the goal.

( cliched post? yes, but cliches are full of truth )

Nah, don't know them personally. I would just utter the same words I always do when I hear someone famous has died whose work I enjoyed: "Well that sucks."

Yeah, the musicians I listened to in my High School days are starting to go the past few years. Dio, Phil Kennemore, Kevin DuBrow, Billy Powell, Jeff Healey, Gary Moore, etc. Sadly, just another reminder that we are all getting older.

Pfff....good luck with that when Perry boots....that event will make the crazy "Leave Brittney alone" chick look like the poster child for sanity.

I will probably be found rocking in a corner in a fetal position when BB King passes.

Back in 1991, I felt really bad after the passing of Freddie Mercury and Eric Carr on the same day (November 24). Queen and Kiss were the first bands I heard in my life. Now, 20 years later I believe it's a sad, but natural thing to happen.

+1 I grew up with RJD. My first memory of music was in the early 90's and I remember hearing shit like Aerosmith's "Monkey On My Back", Damn Yankees "Coming Of Age", and Poison on the radio a lot. I remember hearing Sabbath's Lady Evil and thinking it was a cool song, seeing Ace Frehley's "Shock Me" from the "Live +4" VHS and thinking it was the most awesome thing ever, and loving Billy Squier's music. Keep in mind I was only 7-8 back then :D The Ace Frehley video did get me hooked on KISS though :D

Considering Toy Story 3 had me weeping openly the other day, I would have to guess yes. Having kids has made me an emotional pile of goo, and I am man enough to admit it.
