Eclipse chart status?

Where is the album on the charts now?

Any word on whether AIP has been released to radio? If so, we need to organize a call in campaign.

The charts for last week will be out tomorrow but don't expect to see Eclipse on them.

Neal was very vocal about this being an album not written for radio. Why beg for them to hack up songs to get airplay. If you've got the album, why do you need to hear abbreviated tracks on the air waves?

We (the fans) don't need to organize shit. The band took two years off. If that wasn't enough time for them to come up with a game plan to capitalize on the mega success of DSB, it's not our responsibility to bail them out, marketing wise. They should have saved enough money for marketing on the toilet paper album covers they opted to use instead of real CD cases.

The tour is still going to do well. If the album tanks (as if it hasn't already) it won't affect the bottom line financially, thought it will probably blacklist them from any major distribution deals for the rest of their recording career.

Agreed. I really thought the time off coinciding with the album's release meant a small promotional blitz, but it didn't. They can fault the following major gaffes for the poor sales:

-No promotion ... none.
-No in-store advertising at all.
-The product was, in many cases, stocked with OLD releases.
-Failure on management's part to coordinate the launch with Anderson and Walmart.
-Complacency on the band's part (and management's) to not think of some creative advertising. Perhaps an impromptu set at a club showcasing a few new songs and a few old ones? Late night show? Anything?
-Major, MAJOR fuck up with the CD's pricing. After giving fans 3 CDs and nice packaging for $11.88, they come back with a recycled, folded up paper towel roll, missing lyrics and 1 CD for $10? Bad, bad decision.
-Inability to think on the fly. After the debut and the colossal fuck up it turned out to be, there was no damage control or attempt to promote the product.
-City Of Hope as the lead track. Just not a very good pick and probably on the latter side of the album's better tracks.
