On average I've listened to Tantra twice a day since I bought the album when it first came out. I love and it hasn't faded.

Whether you like the song or not, you can't say that it is the WORST song ever by Journey because it is a very well written song... you just don't like it.

Appreciating Tantra more every day.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

I think you're right....cause I DO really think Butterfly is an incredibly soulful and beautiful....deep song....and the only thing that makes me cringe a little is the word itself...."Butterfly". In just ONE word, he made it really hard for a guy to admit he likes that song. I know...it's silly....but....it's true. For instance....instead of singing "She flieeeeees.....sweet....BUTTERfllyyyyy"....it could have been "She fliiieeessss....away....INNNto the skyyyyyy".....and then the song would have the same meaning but everyone would picture a bird that was being held down....which still works.

I'll stand up and say I think it's a wonderful song, though.

Heh....of course not. Back Talk and Castles Burning are tied for that honor.

backtalk and castles burning rock, terrible lyrics, yes,

butterfly is just pure mary poppins, and Tantra, the most "non Journey" song they have done.

They rock, yes....but not in a good way IMO...seems they're just aggressive for the sake of being aggressive...and they grate on me horribly.

I would rather describe Butterfly as very....ummm...atmospheric and thought provoking....it could put you in a trance, if it didn't pull you out every minute or so with the word "BUTTerfllyyyy" which is sang in a bit of a jarring fashion, and is a bit too cheesy to get away with. Like I mentioned above, a small change in lyrics would have made it a perfect song IMO.

I dig Tantra. Butterfly?? not so much...Worst Journey song(s) ever, all of the non-lead singer sung songs on Generations excluding Deen's 2 on lead vocals and Back talk IMO.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Backtalk grated on me terribly since the first time I heard it. Castles Burning was never a favorite, but listenable.

Yep, already had this "what am I doing?" epiphany. Immediately got up from the desk & went out to the shop. Slugged in a Chuck Norris DVD, cracked a Budweiser, and reorg'd my work bench. They grew back in a few hours.
