Rip's BIG ASS 2-disc copy of ECL1P53

Postby Rip Rokken » Mon Jul 18, 2011 1:56 pm

A friend brought me this from Italy... totally cool! Now I finally understand the CD packaging - it's an exact miniature replica of this one. :)

It's pretty heavy vinyl - much thicker than the LP's I used to buy as a kid. The platters are great quality. I noticed Frontiers Records sells them on their site, along with others in vinyl.

Can't wait to try it out! Just 3 songs per side.

I have this, too. It's pretty cool to be able to spin it on vinyl. And... the lyrics on the inside are correct! Entire verses aren't missing or nowhere close to what Arnel is singing! Go figure...

Hey now, I may be young but I still know what an LP is. :D

Very true. I have LPs that are 20+ years older that dont look as worn out. Then again, who knows what Rip did to his copy ;)

I think the 180 gram records are supposed to last a bit longer and are supposed to hold a better quality recording, but I'm guessing on that. All the records I have purchased in the past few months have been the regular records. Haven't actually purchased a 180 gram record yet.

I might have to check out the other releases on vinyl. Would be nice if they would release W.E.T. or Work of Art on vinyl. That would be pretty sweet.

Can you do me a favor then and go to 2:36 of this clip and tell me what the hell AP is saying? It sure doesn't sound "There's a circle of life when every child is born." which I had come to think was what I was hearing on the studio version.

I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
