I will be there too. Should be a killer night. Although, I must admit, after reading this place too much, I will definitely be listening critically to our Pinoy friend.

Part of me is scared; another part excited. BUT THIS IS JOURNEY. Has that been the case for ALL OF US, for the past 5 years?

The best is the Jimmy Buffett shows at Jones Beach. It turns into a pre-show beach party, that for some begins as early as 8 AM! All of this...BY THE OCEAN!

Now we just gotta keep the rain away for Friday!

Sounds like WYLAW and La Do Da were included in the setlist for this show.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZMsyyBJ ... r_embedded

Taking into consideration the shitty camcorder audio and the heavy reverb, I still get a feeling the guy has lost quite a bit of range since the time I saw this song performed in 2008. Looks like the fourth year changes in vocal performance that we saw with Perry and Augeri are right on schedule when it comes to Arnel also.
For the most part, I've stayed away from commentary on youtube videos except for the atrocious Faithfully but this song just had me wondering how bad Perry would need to sound these days for this to be considered an acceptable performance.

Possibly, but did the Steves have year 3 off? Having been at this show, I did not think the "power/ability to hit the notes" was an issue as much as diction/bad quality sound.

Did you post a review of the show?

I thought the diction issues in the clip were noticeable....but I also thought that the video quality was not great so I was
not sure how much that played into it.

I do love to see Neal playing, he sounded good.

Perry only had '85 off. Augeri mostly had 2000 off (which was year 3).

Last night, Journey varied a bit from the setlist I had from a few days ago in Pennsylvania. I think I'm kinda done with the band. Not even sure why. The show was good, but I did enjoy Night Ranger & Foreigner much more than Journey (?) I actually left before the encore! I guess the end of the Journey legacy stops here for me. In the back of my mind, I still have the whole JSS debacle to ponder... :(

Some one tweeted that Journey's singer was "a cute little Filipino twink"

It must be the haircut.

Same here. I remember as they were playing Separate Ways, seeing the Frontiers album graphic they had on the screen and thinking, "I wish I could have seen Journey play live"  True story!!!

Yeah it was -- watched a broken clip of it last night from a guy who shot various parts of the show -- they played it and went straight into LTS
