I fucking despise people who try to sell shit using tactics like that.

Same type of shit happens in the gun industry all the time: "Yes, this is a Romanian AK that normally goes for about $400, but I have it on good authority that Obama is about to ban them and so I can't take any less than $700. It's your last chance, they're going to be banned"

Been hearing that since 2008....This guy with the "Perry" tix....I need to punch him in the throat repeatedly.

So basically the Romanian AK is a whiney, useless gun with a long nose ,that quit working long time ago yet some of you stubborn people still hope that it will show up in a Gun convention and blow everyone away with it's power ?!

I read and re-read that statement several times and cannot come to a conclusion as to what on Earth you're trying to say. :?:

It's about some big-nosed Romanian guy from Arkansas going about terrorizing gun conventions.

My guess is that the seller meant Gregg Rolie, since he lives there or really close by.

Yep, the rumor probably started when someone said their original singer may show up.

Got a response from the ticket lister:

"a friend of mine from Houston said he knew a buddy at a radio station. Somehow they got wind that Journey's reps were trying to get in touch w/Steve Perry to see if he would make an appearance. Could be a rumor! No one can confirm or deny! It would be awesome if it were true. We are so excited about going to this concert... either way... Steve Perry will always be Steve Perry. But Arnel Pineda does sound really good! :)"

These rumors seem usually to begin with a radio station... Who knows?

I still think they're confusing Steve Perry with "Journey's original vocalist".

Hate to break it to anyone with attachments to Austin... but if Steve Perry makes a guest appearance with Journey, it will NOT happen in Austin freaking Texas.

Agreed. It would be a much higher profile city than that.

Last time, Gregg sang with Deen as I'm not sure if Arnel was up on his catalog history as far as knowing the lyrics to Just The Same Way.
Since Castronovo has been vocally sidelined as of late, does Arnel get his chance to duet with Rolie this time?

I think it would be monstrous. Arnel's got the pipes for that song.

Well, I guess that's subjective... I don't believe the rumor either because it's coming from a radio station--the only reason I thought there might be a grain of truth in it is due to the fact that Gregg Rolie lives here and maybe they were hoping to get Perry onstage with Rolie and everyone else...

Now that would be an incredible moment. Can you imagine what would happen if they publicized that?

It would be freaking awesome if Gregg appears again and Arnel were up on the catalog--I can almost hear People and Places, Just The Same Way, Anytime, loved, loved Do You Recall; holy smokes it would take up the whole set list once again, lol.
