OK, I'll give you that. I was talking more about the performance/delivery. The wife is watching the Emmy's right now so, I guess my "gay sensibilities" are a little muted right now.

The lyrics are atrocious and the song eats shit, save for the end. What a song that eats rhino cocks has to do with a great singer's voice is beyond me, dude.

Copacabana is a timeless anthem and Patiently, while vocally great, is really about nothing and goes nowhere ... until the end. By then I've long lost interest, though. Kinda like that piece of garbage She's A Mystery. 2 songs in a similar league and neither impresses me at all.

Wheel In The Sky is a good song, Feeling That Way and Anytime are ok, but Lights, Patiently and Something To Hide are just garbage. And Winds Of March isn't too far behind.

I think the whole point in that song was to display Perry's vocals. This was the first song he and Neal Schon had written together, so it has some special meaning because of that. Not my favorite song by any stretch either, but you can't deny Perry's vocals were flawless on that song. It was just an indication of good things to come for Journey from that point on.

Gay or not. Perry rocks on this! IMO no one can touch him on his early vocals.
