I'm pretty sure at this stage in the game he has the fans he's going to have, w/Journey anyway.
I think he's an incredible human ...but this article starts off whiny and then ends on a whiny
note too ...pity!!

Perry is the KING of whiny interviews.... oh wait, Jon's kind of a crier isn't he?
Jon's probably got him beat, but not by much "I never felt I was part of the band... boo hoo".
Perry comes off as psychologically damaged and paranoid.

But man, Arnel is ALWAYS respectful, ALWAYS gracious to Perry's fans and his legacy.
Not whiny at all. Respectful.

I absolutely agree that AP is usually not a whiner. But at this stage in the game, why
why are we worried about pleasing the SP fans?!? He's not going to,
three years in, he's not. QUIT talking about it and move on with your fans who love you ...

Wow, sounds kinda whiny to me....

Just read your review. It seems to tow the line with nearly everyone's review of the tour. I wasn't at the show, so I'm not going to refute it. If you didn't like it, you didn't like it. You were there, I wasn't. If you see my posts related to these shows, I'm hardly slapping them on the back. It's a drag to hear that this once great live band seems to have lost the plot. With Pineda, I know what the guy can do and has done and I'm not worried about him not delivering. When I've seen him, he's been great. He's not Steve Perry. Nobody is. Doesn't mean he's not worthy of sitting in the lead singer seat. He is. Schon, on the other hand seems to have just given up from all accounts, not sure what that's about. I have yet to read any positives on him from the last leg of the tour. The rest of the members seem to be non entities at this point. With such bad (and overwhelmingly bad) reviews, the band's future definitely seems in question. Time will tell what happens.
I see them in Seattle and I'll post my thoughts as well. I will actually listen to what they're doing. You can have the best band in the world, but if your sound guy blows, you're going to be screwed. If your show's pacing blows, you're going to be screwed. Hopefully they get it together. Sounds like they're not really trying to fix anything. Weird.
