A4P.. sorry I don't smoke... my butt is fine.. just have issue when people are wishy-washy with their posts... if you can't see how what you posted considered nothing of what Don posted.. and was outright rude.. then you are beyond help.
Gid... shut the fuck up. No one is talking to you.

Age is on her side to develop into a greater talent. Perhaps, more exposure...get on the various talent shows...and let people see/hear what she's got.

I agree ...furthermore, when G~boy/Don speaks, I listen, whether I agree w/him or not ...he's just good like that!!
We had this conversation about Madison's vid some time ago (I believe it's the same vid), some of us just
don't care for it ...I think she has time on her side and plenty of promise, noone said she oughta give it up.
G~boy~ looks like you're gonna have to get more Paula Abgooey to please some folks, but
please don't!!

Don wrote:Madison just isn't making the grade (yet). When we first saw her perform, I put it down to inexperience and shyness. It's been well over a year now and the improvements I thought might happen just don't seem to be there.
Strange to see her first professional video performance being a cover when we all know how talented her father is as a songwriter.
Don wrote:[On the flipside, very impressed with Miles Schon since I first became aware of him and have stated as such. He's a natural performer from what I've seen on the net and live in person.
NICE!!Onestepper wrote:I could care less who's daughter she is. They need to get her some help with her movements, and her overall presentation. Her voice is good, and probably will get stronger. But her stage presence is lacking. She's 18. If she had a voice like Adele, stage presence isn't as important. She doesn't. So it matters.
I wish her well.
Gideon wrote:Honestly, I'm not sure to what extent we can say her voice is 'good'. Can't protools and autotune compensate for a lackluster voice?

Don you probably know. Did she have to get permission from The Black Crowes/Robinson boys? Is the copywright out of date so anyone can do it? Just curious as to how that works in the music biz.
It would be interesting to hear Chris Robinson's critique of this.

Under Section 115A of the Copyright Act, a music publisher must permit you to record any song that has previously been recorded and released to the public if you file a compulsory license. Now,, if the songwriters never recorded their song, or if it was played on TV or in a movie but never released on a sound recording or sold as an authorized download, you cannot use the compulsory license unless granted permission from ALL the writers and publishers.
You also cannot use the compulsory license if you change the basic melody or fundamental character of the song. For example, a singer cannot alter a song’s lyrics without permission. Also, you can not sync the song to a video without permission.
Under all of the circumstances, you do have to pay royalties to the writers and publishers of the song you cover regardless.
Copyright lasts as long as the author's life plus an additional 70 years after the author's death.
