Apparently they were filming & had personnel on scene to film it at the time...
so why not film it all and put it on a DVD ..Blu Ray or whatever?

Costs MUCH more. Band has to pay the local stagehand's union any time you film in their house to make a profit. The more you want to shoot, the more you pay...

Just a live Video wold have been much better, more like what they did for ROR...Too see Neal with his Sunglasses rolling around in the sand. I thought I was watching a Lifetime Movie.

Journey Offer Special Valentine’s Day ‘Resonate’ Video for Fans

by: jwilliamrobinson

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/journey- ... ate-video/

Journey have a very special and very awesome Valentine’s Day present for fans in the form of the new video for their song ‘Resonate’ — that is, if said fans have any interest in watching footage of Neal Schon making out with girlfriend Michaele Salahi while she’s sprawled out half-naked on the beach.

If said fans don’t feel like checking out some almost-NSFW canoodling clips featuring the guitarist and the former ‘The Real Housewives of D.C.’ star — and they very well may not — they may want to skip this one. (The pair’s rekindled and very public romance made a lot of news headlines last year.)

That said, the video for ‘Resonate’ — the third single off their latest album, last year’s ‘Eclipse’ — does feature plenty of killer live Journey footage. “Filmed in Seattle and Los Angeles, the video captures some of our favorite live moments during the Eclipse Tour,” reads a post on the band’s website accompanying the clip. “Enjoy.”

As for the song itself, Schon says he asked keyboardist Jonathan Cain to look back at some of the band’s classic tracks for inspiration when penning it. ”Jon, y’know, he had brought in some ballads and they were good, but I felt that we had other stuff that was more relevant for this record,” he said.

“And I said, ‘Y’know, you wrote ’Separate Ways,’ man, with [Steve] Perry,’ I said, ‘Go grab one of those. I know you have one of those sitting somewhere,’” he adds. “And so ’Resonate’ he brought in and I went, ‘That’s frickin’ great!’ Y’know, I love that.”

So while fans may not love the make-out footage, there’s much more to love about the ‘Resonate’ video — from the live footage to the song inspired by classic Journey. And if that’s not a special Valentine’s Day treat for fans, we don’t know what is.

The song rocks imhop but the video is horrid. And for the first time since being exposed to Arnel, he actually looks his age or older in this video which makes him look even more out of place for some reason.

Yeah well Perry is missing from this mess (thank god) (Neal note to self you had a great band back in the day!)......that video is awful.

It seems the AP contingent have jumped ship at MR these days as well....as a great song once said The Party's Over.

Should old people like that be starring in a make-out scene? Guess that should make me feel good...being old.

Arnel looks like he's trying to take a dump on stage.

Not sure they could have used crowd pics of this song, as most people would have a look of "don't know this song...sounds pretty decent...I think...aw...better go take a leak."

You make an excellent point; however, the people in the 1st 10 rows, or
so, should've been on their feet NO MATTER WHAT. It is my belief/#1 rock rule, that if you're going to sit
in front, you have an obligation to the band/any band to be on your feet
the entire/majority of the show ...unless you are disabled, sick (see below) or wearing sky high stilettos
(which only allows for a 30 second break every 15 min.). If, at any time, you cannot remain
true to your obligation/the band, you must relinquish your ticket immediately to an 11th
row recipient, or so ...and so on!!

No, I think he meant he wanted a rocking song like Separate Ways, not that it was one from the SP days.

If this is the best modern Journey can do to promote themselves, they should really hang it up.

I fear this is more of a case of Neal and Michelle promoting themselves, but using Journey as the means to get it done. Releasing this months after a tour concludes, it isn't like it is going to help sales or attendance.

Hey Journey(Neal). Not sure you noticed a drop off of fans on Facebook, but there was one. I've been a long time fan, and defender of yours, but for fucks sake. When you get your balls back from her purse, let us know.

I don't come around here that often nowadays, but I needed to say this......

STOP. Neal and company, if this is how its gonna be, it is time to bring the Journey to an end. Go on and do solo projects, but seriously, end this. It is rather embarrassing now.
Rock on,

Excellent point! I just became more and more deflated as I watched the video. Just embarrassing on so many levels -- the ridiculous scenes with the two of them, the poor production. I'm sure some of you on this board could have done a more professional job.

Still can't believe how they could ruin such a great song for me.

Maybe in Neal's altered reality this video is his answer to the Oh Sherrie vid. Sorry, Neal, this geriatric love fest is a major turn off.

Sherrie was hotter, but Resonate is the better song.

Ah, but, the "sherrie" video was much more interesting. At least, it was rated G.
Neal's "love story" video looks to be R. The shot of his mouth groping into Michaela's open blouse borders on soft-porn...certainly not suitable for "family" viewing (imo).

I see what you are getting at here. And I agree - I don't care for the love scenes. But they are tame, not even close to R rated. This could be shown on TV easily. Not that anyone would want to watch it.

:D I guess you're right... tame considering what is shown all over the place now. This is "PG-13" at least....
