Jeremey, Gave your release a third listen, noticed your voice IMO, is a cross between Perry and Chalfant (good thing). Is this your natural voice you are singing throught this release? Or were trying to sound like that? either way it is good.

You must have been shitting yourself when you knew you had a serious vocal problem!

Do you know how it was caused?
Was it straining to hit high notes over time and then singing when you should have been resting?
When you get the all clear to sing again, do the Docs think your voice will sound different?

Bloody hell, I can't imagine.
I get suicidal when I have laryngitis from a cold.

Don't take any chances. Don't sing until the Docs say you can - and even then, wait two more weeks.

You didn't give up your day job did you?
If so [ sorry this has turned into 20 questions!!!] - I hope you are managing to keep your head above water financially.

Thanks Susie! Sending your CD out today!

RE my voice, I had pretty much worn myself out singing last year while suffering through allergies and lack of rest. I was hurting March through June of last year without any real time to recover, then I hemorrhaged a vocal cord the first of July. Financially I couldn't afford to cancel any shows and I continued singing (duh) and eventually had to cancel a few anyway, then finally get surgery. It's been very tough financially, this was all I did, and while Frontiers (the business) made a lot of money, there was huge overhead that I was directly responsible for and needed to stay on the road just to keep positive cash flow. As it is, I thought I'd be returning in March, but had to have a second surgery at the end of January due to a bad bronchitis bout after my first surgery. So I had to cancel all further shows until summer at least. Trying to figure out what to do, save the house, pay the power bills, etc for the next couple of months at least. This is why I've been pushing the CD so hard - At first it was supposed to be released when we went back on the road, but unfortunately it's become the primary source of income until I can find some temp work etc. Lots of streaming listens so far, doesn't translate into tons of sales though...LOL, all in all just trying to survive until I get back on the road in June, so I appreciate each and every time someone picks up the CD, and I'm glad you liked what you heard and did!

Sorry to vent, LOL....Been a rough month or so

Last night I was asleep by the second song, no reflection on the music, I was was just beat! Today I have gave it the first full listen, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, my favorite release this year.....beating out Styx, Bruce among a few I have bought this year.

Plus thanks for the booklet, I never by a physical CD anymore, wish more artist would do that.

Thanks so much Eric, that does mean a lot man...I am glad you like the CD and the booklet as well! That is my own voice on the CD, really tried to get away from the Journey sound to some extent, but it's damned near impossible I guess given what I've been doing for the past 10 years, haha!

Jeremey that is really rough. And you must vent. You have to let it out. Bottling stuff like this up just makes you even more ill. And you don't need that on top of what you've already suffered!

All you can do is stay positive and determined. The Docs have fixed you so far. The rest of the healing comes with rest. Vocal and otherwise.
And of course you are really going to have to be obsessive about taking care of your voice now.

Hee hee, all singers are the same.
If anyone with a sniffle comes within three metres of me I give them the death stare and get a handkerchief to cover my face from their evil airborne viruses and nasty germs. And I refuse to visit friends/family if anyone has a cold or sore throat.

F**k 'em. They all get sick pay if they have time off from their jobs. I don't. And neither do you, so I expect you will be like me soon, if you aren't like that already!

And I know cancelling sucks BIG TIME but as you have learned to your cost, singing when you shouldn't causes a bigger financial loss in the long term.

And as I have found since I gave up my day job 12 years ago, enough money to get by always turns up in the end.

Listen, I really really hope your financial situation takes a turn for the better this year and most of all I hope you remain healthy and successful and happy.
And sometimes success and happiness do not mean money. Even so, I hope you make a fortune and sell shed loads of CDs.

Beat wishes to you.....................and good luck.

Thats great news Jeremey.
Stay positive and look on the bright side - your voice has been saved.
It could have been a lot worse.
So when you feel down, remember that.
Keep us posted.

P.S.

I know this is not the same, but there's an English singer, used to sing in Clubs and Pubs and then found worldwide success when he changed his singing style to light operatic stuff - he's called Russell Watson.
Well, all was going great for him when he got zapped by a brain tumour.
It was touch n go for him for a while but he pulled through.

And if you listen to his voice after all the trauma, it's actually richer, stronger and even better than before.

So, hold on to that thought too.

Now you have had to get some therapy etc, you will sing even better than before.

So even though you have had to suffer such a dreadful trauma and upheaval, it may yet turn out to be a good thing.
